mandurahgal
Hi All, I am just a newbie to DOL and to dog grooming. I am at the moment doing dog grooming as a bit of a prt time hobby from home and have been starting to get busy with enquiries. It is my intention to only be doing small dogs of which most so far have been Shihtzu x. I would like some advice on a dryer that is suitable for this brred in particular something with a very low noise level. Obviously I want the best and cheapest I can get. Any advice would be appreciated. I have read most of the posts on here about dryers and have got myself totally confused but so far from what I have read, I am thinking maybe a LaserLite/ An Oldfield or a Simpson. I used thhe liberty Stand Dryer when I did my grooming course and the noise drove me insane and really frightened the dogs so I don't want anything that noisy or powerful. Thank you
dancinbcs
I love my Oldfield but wouldn't say it was quiet. They are very powerful, robust and reliable and I use them on Border Collie puppies from 8-10 weeks (approx 5-7kgs) with no problems but have no idea how they would be with a small breed. To reduce the noise near the dogs I replaced the hose with a longer piece of pool hose, so that I can place the dryer further away.
Blue Fox 001
I have a Double K force dryer which I use on everything from 8 week old shihs (one motor) to full grown german shepherds (two motors and the condensor nozzle). The hose is quite long so the noise is further away from the dog and apart from the very very timid ones I haven't had any problems. Pretty good price too - think I paid $450 a couple of years ago
Dogsfevr
We use Liberty all the time & they are quieter than the oldfield. No good dryer will be quiet & we have never had a dog freak with teh dryer with an y clients. We also have the oldfield cylinder
