redangel
Hi I have just tried to load my sd card from my reader back into my camera. It wouldnt load. On investigation I see that a corner of the plastic has broken off. Now Ive given the card reader a thorough go over....is it likely the card piece (xsmall) could be lodged in the camera card slot??? Is it likely the piece will never get located? BTW it still reads in the cardreader. Should I be concerned or try a new card and move on?
tlc
Mmm can you give your reader a bit of a jiggle, I would have thought if it broke off in there it would maybe fall out?? As long as it hasnt broken off inthe camera? Can you load a new card in the camera?
tlc
If you can load a new card in the camera I wouldnt be too worried about it!

tlc
Oh bugger, it must be lodged there if it wont come out. Im guessing you cant put another card in?
redangel
no-it wont accept which made me look harder. Are there specific repair places to which to send your camera????
PossumCorner
What rotten luck, never heard of that happening, thought only aircraft had fatigue fractures or the like. Can't help with a fix-it place in Qld. But for me I wouldn't take it to a camera store or retailer, in case someone ignorant mucks about with it. Probably it would be worth contacting your nearest camera club (photographic society) and ask them for a recommendation for someone they know is good. Just for that it would be worth joining (probably about $50 for annual membership). I know who to go to in Melbourne but there must be a repair facility to trust somewhere closer to you, and the pros in a camera club would know them by word of mouth, the best recommendation. redangel
im in Melbourne...... Update on the condition is that the piece fell out easily, the camera now accepts the new card but the card doesnt eject anymore. Thanks for the replies- so Im looking for a repairer in Melbourne. I know that the camera stores send to nikon collingwood. Is that the way to go or is there preferred repairers out there???
