jata
Hi Everyone My 4 month old British Bulldog Winnie keeps getting pimples on her chin! Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to combat them? I feed her Artemis, minced Beef, minced chicken, natural yogurt, chicken hearts, chicken necks, apple cider vinegar and the odd raw bone here and there. I feed her out of ceramic food bowls which are washed after every meal. Is it just a case of puppy acne or do you think I should maybe try another premium food? I wipe her face after every meal and also clean her skin folds with antibacterial face wipes! Any idea would be appreciated
emilee
Hi Jata; which Artemis are you feeding - possibly your protein levels are too high, ideally you should have a puppy bulldog at 23 percent protein so you would be looking at a food like Eagle Pack Large breed puppy or similar. Also look at area's where she rests her chin, such as the edge of her bed or the arm of your couch, sometimes they slobber as they sleep and if they are resting on the same place all the time it can harbour germs. Try using just a baby wipe instead of an antibacterial wipe - you may be irritating her skin, and a little nappy rash cream like Desitin cream can help. with that. Great, thanks very much I will give that a go!
sas
For Pimples make sure you are feeding out of metal bowls, ditch all the plastic ones they will continue to habour the bacteria. Head to the Supermarket and grab some of the Yellow Original Formula Listerine and wipe your puppies pimples 2 or 3 times a day.
