Costa has the most gorgeous and intelligent face. I love his eyes. I never knew what a Vizsla was until coming into this web site, they are a wonderful breed...though too big for me now. Its funny my first dog was a Doberman, then a Rotti, German Shepherd, then they started to get smaller, Aussie Bulldog x 2, now a Pug  I think as I am shrinking so is the dog breed :( How did his name come about?

In fact thats a question for everyone: How did you pick your dogs name?

I wen through a baby name book. I know your supposed to pick 1-2 syllables in a name, to keep it short and after picking lots of names we liked, and saying them out loud like I was calling the dog, we came up with Zoe. Its short and sweet :p

How handsome is Costa! Sounds like he's settling in well!

James had his second vaccination today and made everyone he met love him. Stuck his head in an enormous mastiff's mouth and was surprisingly attentive and obedient when I made him do some commands in the reception, despite wanting to sniff and see everything.

Costa's a great name! Are you using it as a form of Kostya/Constantine or did you come up with it separately? Zoe's also a very pretty name, BF. Two days! Not long now.

James was through process of elimination. Everyone in the family had to agree and it was the only one everyone liked. There were a couple that two of us liked, but no other name had all three of us agreeing. And it's drawn attention as well - people keep commenting on how unusual James i as a dog's name.

Hi guys, I got an advice on the playpen. My gf's dogs has it but it's actually quite dangerous. One of them tried to climb over and one of his foot got stuck. Luckily someone was there to save him. I read somewhere in this forum that a dog broke his leg while trying to free himself. Maybe you guys can find something to cover so the dog won't try to climb. I got a pet tent from crazysales website and I think it's good. it cost $110 but at least I don't have to worry when I leave the dog home alone.

Costa is lovely. Is that a Hungarian vislaz? I don't know how it's spelt. Sorry. Haha nice name also.

Jodi you got really nice stuff there. I am going to get some toys, lead and collar etc. Later on.

Bluefairy - So soon now!!!! Just a few more days and your waiting is over!

Costa's mum - I agree with Bluefairy.. A really intelligent face. You're going to have so much fun with him.

Nicolatu - A puppy at our puppy class had her leg in a bandage last week cos she's also caught her leg in the playpen trying to jump over.. Seems to happen quite a bit unfortunately..

Niques - Not surprised that everyone loves James.. He's such a cutie! :(

As for Badger's name, when he was born he was virtually all black and white (except for his eyebrows! :p ) and just looked like a baby badger. We all liked the sound of the name and it just stuck. Funnily enough, as he's got older the white and black on his face is all turning brown.. :o Although I must say, hardly anyone ever calls him Badger.. Its either Badge, Badgie, Budgie, Little Man, Little Prince, Grizzly Chops (Don't ask!), or Snapper (cos of the sound of his crocodile jaws snapping shut when he's excited.. )

Oh Lola what a cutie!! Thank you for sharing.

Yes Costa is a Hungarian Vizsla. Costa's name came from Costa's Garden Odyssey the tv show on SBS. We really liked the name and the guy Costa is just so excitable about his gardens we thought it would be a good name for an energetic dog.

Yes the play pens are a worry. We have a bunnings one and he hasn't tried to climb over but has put his paws up at it. I haven't left him unsupervised yet so i might need to rethink where we will put him.

We definitely don't mind looking at the goregeous Lola, what a sweetie pie, so cute. I love the ruby cavs. How long till she comes home?

Georgia's name is the one the breeder had given her. I'm not totally sold on it, but my hubby and daughter love it. My son doesn't like it because a girl at kinder is named Georgia and in Baileys words she's mean! LOL He's just happy we're getting a puppy really. When we talk about her I just call her puppy, rather than by her name. I wanted to call her Bella, but so far I'm out numbered. Time will tell.

Thanks ladies! We love her so much already just from the photos. She gets picked up from Perth airport by my sister on Wednesday arvo, then my sister drives straight down here. So late arvo we will be giving her lots of cuddles. So excited, only our eldest knows we are getting her, the other three have no idea.

We have a plastic playpen we use fpor the kids, only has small holes, a paw wouldnt fit into, very sturdy and thick plastic. So we hope that will last awhile.

I have to submit my assignment and it needs some tweaking, but once its done I might take some photos of all the things we have bought for Lola to show everyone!!

5 sleeps to go!!!

Mich and Jake- our youngest child and only daughter is called Georgia- Gigi for short. Maybe you could call her Gigi (even the kids and carers at daycare call her this), its such a cute name.

When we talk about her I just call her puppy,

I'm still guilty of that - and I wonder why it took him so long to learn his name :) Lately I've moved into constantly referring to him as "handsome fellow". Or, more frequently, "Who's my handsome fellow!?! Yes, you are! Yes you are!"

Lola is extremely cute. I love her two week photo - they're so round and rolly at that stage! Your three younger children will be so excited when she comes home, I can just imagine - what a surprise!

I have heard some horror stories about playpens which are a little disturbing. It's only just occured to James to jump up with his paws and that only seems to be happening so far when he's eager to see us at the end of the day. He's been more occupied with pushing it around - I come home to find it in a completely different shape than when I left :D I've ended up blocking his primary pushing points with roof tiles in an attempt to keep it square. I'm quite happy to have him sleep in it indefinitely as he knows he just has to sit at the gate and yelp a few times to let me know he's up. But pretty soon he'll graduate to having the whole garage for himself during the day though as he's getting big fast and the jumping risk is too great. Although, this is a big pup who's never bothered attempting to jump onto the couch - the act of jumping has never really occured to him. Slow guy  We'll be playing it by ear.

Some of the things we have for her its the smallest I could make the photo and it will only let me put one per post this time!

The kids will be excited as they have never had a dog that wanted to play with them. Our old boy, a blue heeler cross died in January aged nearly 15 yrs. So he was always past the playing stage and would hide form them instead! So Im really looking forward to teaching them how to look after Lola, theres plenty of love to go around in this house!

Here are some photos of some of the things we have for her so far. I also have the dry biscuits she needs but didnt put them in the photo.

Lola is so cute! I love the 7 week photo. Just lovely. You bought that bed from k-mart right? I think I remember seeing it. The rest of stuff is also beautiful.

Yesterday my gf and I went to PetStock supplies to get some additional stuff. We have now got 3 toys, 1 puppy kong, crate, pet tent, collar, lead, bed, blanket, indoor toilet and eukanuba treats for puppy. All I need is food and bowls and ready to welcome my boy! So excited. 3 more sleeps to go before those sleepless nights everyone had been talking about. Haha!

Nic- yeah we bought two of them for laying on in diff rooms. Still trying to figure out if we are crate training or not, I have to make a decision before Wednesday! Sounds like you yourself are all ready to go, what day do you pick your pup up?
