Ruby is a stunner, We found out that something was up because we took him to our vet, thought it would be good to touch base asap and so he got to know that it isn't all bad, but we got the news then. He does walk a bit funny, so at the moment we are just being careful he is not allowed up or down our stairs. We have found him great with kids got a piccy of him and my youngest son, not great but still cute.

Ruby is so, so cute, Redruby! I just LOVE bulldog puppies and now there's 2 to spy out..

Can't wait to see pics of Lola, littlehoot.. Glad she's settling well but so sorry to hear about your car.. How big were the hailstones?

oakeydoak1, Badger suddenly ran outside this morning while I was opening curtains and disappeared into the garden so I quietly ran after him and he was doing a poo!

First time he has voluntarily left the house to go to toilet on his own..:(

So he got tons of treats and much excited praise when he'd finished. I know it doesn't mean he'll do it everytime but I feel he's 'getting the idea' at last which is such a pick-me-up after yesterdays frustration. Thanks for your advice..

I think these pups go so well with toilet training the bang they don't want to anymore, Winston has a thing for peeing in the door way of our media room. We aren't taking him outside just yet we decided to paper train him on the balcony as if he has surgery there is no stairs just one little one and I can make a little ramp for him.

I am off out soon to try and find and small rectangle container to put grass in so he can go on that, worth a shot, we looked at the pet loo's but they are expensive so I think this may work the same. At the minute he is sound asleep snoring at my feet he is so quiet compared to my brothers lab pup, so lazy!

Glad everyone else is going well, I am of now to post and ask about advice for my babys hips.

Oh and piccys please, I will post some this afternoon. promise.

Yes the Bulldog and agility was a bit of a  ...I was thinking of my shepherd when I wrote it.

Jax ~ Glad to see Badger is getting it. Time and patience is the key.....depends on how much you can muster though at any one time. I found I was more patient with my pup than I was with my kids TT :( age does that to us all I think

Love the pics of Ruby and Winston, still waiting on the Lola fixes though

Well I better get back to my sewing....I'm making a cover for the crate, pretty yellow one side and white with pink moons and clouds, with yellow teddies laying in the clouds the other. It is reversible, I've made the pattern just need to cut out the material now.

Jax woohoo for Badger :( thats great, hope it continues.

Didles - great idea for the fake grass. A friend of mine who lives in a unit got some as her entire backyard was concrete - got about a 1.5m x 1.5m square for her CKCS to go on and it has worked a treat.

Loving all the photos - Lola piccies please.

they do work just as well - just get the base of a cat litter tray, the lid of a larger plastic box or just a sheet of plastic (depending on the size of the dog) - add a layer of cat litter (paper version) or newspapers to absorb the liquid, top with a layer of fake grass (trip to Bunnings for that one) ..... we use this for our pups until they are old enough to hold for the day when we're at work ..... much cheaper than the indoor toilets you can buy

there should be a few threads on indoor toilets in the puppy section of DOL if you want to search for them

Didles, I'm sure Winston will have a fantastic life with your family - he sounds (and looks!) much loved already. I love the name Winston on a bulldog, by the way. It's somehow very suited to the breed.

Ruby and Winston are both adorable.

Well done, Badger! He sounds like such a little character.

James hasn't had any accidents since yesterday morning! And he made his own way to the laundry door at one point this morning and did a wee as soon as I let him out, so I'm hoping that's indicating some awareness! Another pretty crap night, though. He was up three times - toileted for two of those, which was good. But he's still crying and banging against his playpen when I put him back. And by 5:30am he's crying non-stop. The problem is that he's out like a light by 8pm at night. I took him out at 9:30 last night, before I moved him downstairs to his bed, and he tried to go back to sleep while I put his collar on, and again when we got outside.

Of course, the plus side is that he's such a sleepy little bugger that he's back asleep again each morning by 6:30/7:00.

Anyway, I finally got around to taking pictures this morning. This is him with his beloved duck. He goes about chasing and pouncing on it, before proceeding to shake it to death. It's absolutely hilarious to watch.

Has been a busy weekend with OH home and my son's birthday, so just jumping on quickly.

Didles - I'm SO glad for your family that you have decided to keep him!! How wonderful, and realistically you have to keep in mind that any pet could have surprise health problems down the track.

Littlehoot - how's it going with the new addition?

Hello to all the newbies :(

And finally, we're getting our puppy in less than 24 hours!!!! I have become sooo nervous now lol. I can't wait to meet him though, beyond excited!! I'll post piccies sometime tomorrow, too.

We are back, sorry had to do the human kids for nits today. My car looks worse today but I could be just being a sook. The hail stones were Golf Ball size and a touch bigger at times, they hit for 25 mins. It was horrible.

Lola has settled really well. We havent had any accidents yet (touch wood) She also slept from 11p-730am which was great not a sound. She was beside the bed in her crate.

Here are a couple of pics I took of her. We have started the clicker today. Just getting her used to it and looking at me.

She's beautiful, littlehoot! Hope she does well with the clicker.

I tried starting the clicker today but James is just so not food oriented. I think he's managed to somehow skip the labrador, "MUST EAT EVERYTHING!!" gene. So I've mainly just been focussing on having him sit for his food bowl and throwing in the occasional "sit for a piece of dry food".

littlehoot.. She is GORGEOUS!!! Those eyes! What a honey-bun.. And such a good girl too...

Niques, obviously James might be different from Badger but he also wasn't really interested in food for the first day or in treats for the first few days.. Was probably only on day 3 that he started getting interested.. so maybe those Labrador food genes will kick in yet...

Whose next after FD26 tomorrow? Poppyx, are you next weekend? Anyone else expecting this week or weekend coming?
