whiskedaway
Thanks WA! Very cute picture. They really act like true sisters don't they? Despite the breed difference. How did Halo go in her first show? They are best friends. Halo has her times when she wants to get away from Akira, and vice versa, but they adore each other and they love to play together. And she went quite well. Was really well behaved in breed and was a good girl, though was a total wiggle bum who just wanted to play in group. We both had fun though. Naomi - I'm not keen on showing either (it seems like people spend their entire weekends at shows!) but I wouldn't mind agility or OB. I know you can't start agility until 18 months - but at least our dog will be used to tunnels! (we are having to create a tunnel in the wall for the doggy door) Some people do spend their entire weekend at shows, but others don't. We don't, because before we even got Halo it was agreed that Sundays would stay Akira's day. So we only show on Fridays (if there's a night show) and Saturdays unless it's a long weekend (there are one or two exceptions if there's a specialty, but that's rare), and Sundays both girls go to obedience. Akira also goes to agility on Friday nights. Every second or third weekend we won't show at all and the girls will go with me to watch OH's footy match. In the winter, we won't show much at all because we're planning on starting sledding this year now that Akira's a year old.
~Rumour~
Also do the rest of you have plans for your pup? This is my first pup so I'm just discovering all the activities in the doggie world. Obedience is really jumping out at me at the moment so I might suss that out later. The thought of showing freaks me out a little. I'd hate someone to judge my dog because I would obviously think he's the most attractive Aussie, and to be told otherwise would be horrible. We have a little girl !!!!!!!! eight more weeks till she comes home..... I'll have to distract myself with shopping till then. In response to your question Naomi his little girl will be doing flyball and agility (with her big brother) and I though i might give Obedience a go until she is old enough to start doing the other sports. I'm so excited already!
TheFenstar
I'll have to distract myself with shopping till then. This is exactly what I've been doing! Every time I go to the shops I buy something little to add to the collection. I haven't gone overboard but it's nice to be prepared. I've got SIX days to go. goldbaby
Hi everyone! We are waiting not so patiently for our new golden retriever baby! We are getting a little boy and its only about 2 1/2 weeks away now. We are going to visit on Friday night then we pick him up on 26th March. We need some help with name suggestions, we cannot agree on anything! and are trying to steer clear of all the suggestions from the kids on naming it after their favourite tv character! So far we have Max Baxter Byron Harvey Memphis Please give me some more ideas!!
Katie P
I like Memphis But then again I like anything that when you call out your dogs name in say i.e. a dog park, 5 dogs don't come running

Jessca
I like Baxter, it reminds me of Will Farell though. We are hopefully getting a pup in a couple of months!! They were mated about 2 weeks ago, so still havent confimed pregnancy, but have our fingers crossed. We are getting a GSD bitch, and have been trying to think of names, but names I like my partner doesnt and names he likes I dont.

Naomi
Haha. Nice little stock pile there Huga. I'll have to take a picture of mine too. I have trouble finding fluffy toys that don't have a squeaker in them. I want a fluffy toy that he can sleep with at night that won't keep us up all night! Lol. huga
On the right of my pic is a little soft koala with rope legs and arms that I got from Big W - no squeaker Check out how cute this ribbon is, I used it for his collars and leads:
cassie
Cassie, are you looking at getting another pup? If so, which breed would you get? Yep, definitely putting my feelers out at the moment! I'm down to one dog and he needs a mate! New pup will be a Saint Bernard, but it won't be until the second half of this year. But ahhhhhh I want one NOW PLEASE!!! :D
stonecutter
Naomi - I have a fluffy heart beat pillow for night time we can take out the heart beat bit and use it as a normal cuddle toy later on. Apparently the Reject Shop has a good selection of toys. I'm looking for treat chew toys to keep him/her occupied during the day while we're at work.
