3 sleeps! He's having his shots today! (Fingers crossed...)

Smash - Boy, do I know what you're talking about! Puppy-proofing, counting days (first for due date, now homecoming), taking time off work... Yes, definitely feels like having a child!

I missed the whole due date part. I kind of stumbled across him after getting referred on a couple of times through the Frenchie club. He was four weeks when we first met him. So I've had a five week wait which has been torture enough!

My boy is getting his vacs today too along with his full vet health check (heart, palate, hip and spine xrays). My breeder is going to call and let me know all is fine this afternoon / evening. Making me so nervous waiting...!

Just a query guys, I see lots of you are getting the Bunnings compost panels and a lot of you are setting up pens outside. Can I ask why this is?

I just want to know what I am missing! Haha.

Mostly to keep him separate from the other dogs when I can't supervise but also so there's somewhere safe to keep him if I go out. My pen is inside, I just supervise him if we're outside.

He's in there at the moment cos we all need a little break.

Moosepup, thanks for posting that pic, I was wondering how best to set it up against the wall.

Steph, in my case it's because I've realised there's no way to keep all these cables out of reach, so while he's a puppy I can't leave him unsupervised unless he's in a pen. It's good to start getting him used to being alone as I'm starting Uni in a few months. Oh, and its also great for the back yard since we have a large one.

(Okay, I'm thinking the back yard only seems large to me because I lived in England for so long...)

My apartment has a balcony which was closed off at some stage so I've just moved a bunch of crap out of there except my study desk and chair and have put a baby gate where the door was. It's a really good size pen for him I think!

I would have done something similar though and sectioned off a room if I had to. I think my bathroom / laundry would have been too small for him.

Ah I thought that might be it, was wondering if I was just totally missing something and the pups shouldn't be allowed outside free-range. Haha.

If your yard is secure and danger free it should be fine. :) Nacho is a big Chihuahua but still a small (and curious!) pup and i have a decent aized yard so I wouldn't feel comfortable giving him free range for awhile,

If you have a strong pup you may want to put some towel wrapped bricks up against the panel that's against the wall just for sturdiness as they will jump up against the side and move it. Do not underestimate the strength of a small puppy.

3 sleeps to go and pup is still name-less! :(

15 Sleeps to Go.

And I'm sure his name will magically materialize when you see him for the first time. I've had that happen numerous times and it always seems just right.

I'm a little nervous that when my puppy gets here, she's not going to be a "Willow". Not ever named a puppy I've never met before.

(And the first person that tries to nickname her "Willsy" is going to get one in the soft bits. :scold: )

I have a Moose too :) At first everyone thought it was the weirdest name  Now it's just normal, it's just his name :)

ETA: I really like Willow too! We were considering Wilson but I'd probably end up shortening it to "Will" and that's my brother's name, so we decided against it.

Cassis, it'll just come to you!

I named Louis before I even met him, when I heard I was getting a boy. I thought being named after Louis the Great just HAD to suit a boy Yorkshire Terror! (That's not a typo :grimace: )

Funnily enough, he's so quiet and calm... I might have made a mistake!
