emery
Hi emery. I haven't got pics yet, the pups are only days old. You're teasing me with pics of yours! You have a beautiful dog there. For 6 mths his holding it very nicely together. :) I'd same I'm jealous, but it's more like impatient. 7 weeks is going to feel like an Age. Heheheh Dory i know that feeling whilst i was waiting for this boy. These are the nice pics lol he is a bit leggy but otherwise i am very happy with him this is the hard age they go through so many changes. Patience is a big virtue rofl. I Look forward to seeing your baby when you gets pics :) Nothing better than a rotti baby IMO of course ;) trying again I saw some rottweilers this weekend and oh my gosh, I didn't realise just how beautiful they are! They are big smoochy teddy bears in the right hands :D i was terrified of them to i got my first and i am smitten now they are personality plus and i love taking mine out to meet the public and change perceptions on appearance and temp :D

Tara8430
1365399229[/url]' post='6169076']Jules I think you are spot on, if the other pups had survived I think it would of been too soon, but this puts an extra two months on top of that wait. Not a long time to wait for the pup after this long, but a good amount of time to have with myself to think about Sam. As Tikira said, Sam is probably up there picking out the right pup for me, and strange enough the matings took place the following days after I lost him, I wonder if reincarnation happens in dogs . I've thought about this too when I lost my old girl (black lab) Sheba, I lost Sheba in July last year and everything just seemed to fall into place for me to get my new girl (black lab) abbey, I brought her home in November. I missed having a dog to come home to terribly but I know I needed that time to grieve for Sheba. I just couldn't believe it when I emailed a breeder who actually imported Sheba grandfather all those years ago and she told me she was just about to do a mating which would give her black babies. And honestly Abbey is soooo much like Sheba it's not funny, she didn't cry when she came home, she never looked back, it's all felt like it was meant to be. So yes Lisa I'm sure Sam is up there working on sending you the most beautiful new pup who is going to make you feel better again.

Dory the Doted One
Yay...more puppies to come. :) I've been scouting out obedience clubs, its been quite interesting to see and meet so many other people who are also scouting out clubs for their future puppies. BEFORE they get their puppies.

I guess in a way it's like school or really any other major investment, you want to nose around and get your stuff right and make the right choice first off the bat! Harder to undo bad work than do good to start
LisaCC
I went searching on the weekend :) But I only have the choice of that one or "Home schooling". It wasn't the greatest but I'm still happy with them, they said they follow Delta training. I've heard good and bad things, but I think I'll do my own training and use the club as well. Decided against all the puppy preschools here though, they are all terrible. I can't see why I would spend $150 for 4 weeks of play time.
Steph M
I think they have their merits though, I mean, how else will puppies learn how to behave with other puppies? Plus tiring them out will be a welcome relief! Haha. I like the idea, as much as for puppy as for myself, I don't have a lot of doggy people as friends, lots of my friends are apartment dwellers or cat people, so this leaves me without anyone to coo and brag to. I like the idea of forming a little network, might meet some nice people through it, so I don't see a harm in it. other than the obvious cost one. Haha. LisaCC
I agree that some puppy preschools are good and do have their merits. The ones in my town though aren't, I have a friend attending one (which is apparently the "good one" in town too), they did 5minutes of teaching Sit, and then let the puppies free play. I can think of much better ways to socialise my pup. I will be going to beginner obedience instead when it's a little older. Steph M
That's fair, I suppose with only a few options they can get away with whatever they like, shame you live so far or I'm sure you could find potential play dates, myself included! :D
LisaCC
I'm jealous of all the DOL people in Victoria who get to go to that awesome Dog resort, Kepala I think? What an awesome place to have doggy play dates!
Lugeanjaam
I also had doubts about the merits of puppy school. We were lucky enough to find a great one though which we really enjoyed. Play time was 10 minutes of supervised interaction. The instructor also used this time to work on recall in a very distracting scenario like puppies playing. Only downside for me that the class went for an hour and that is a long time for a baby puppy to focus. I found that half an hour in Flynn would switch off and just want to nap! One of the benefits is that the same group is now moving up to beginners together and they are a lovely bunch of people and puppies. I dont think that I learned anything new in the course but it was fun for the both of us and that is pretty much the reason we joined.
