Stack
No more crying at night! She sleeps in a play pen, in the ensuite (with door open to our bedroom) so she can see us and that keeps her very happy. She is the best dog.
GSDGirl
Hi everybody, Have chosen my pup and she will be coming home in ten short days! Does anyone know which puppy pre-school (most of ours are run by vets) in Bunbury are good/safe? Also, if I know a dog has been kept up to date in its vaccinations, is it safe for my puppy to meet them before her 16 week vaccinations? Now, for the requisite photos:

Yes if you know the dog has been vaccinated, it is really good to get your puppy to meet them, best to socialise them starting young. Thats why puppy school is good too, its more of a socailisation thing than anything else really. Goodluck with her!
mish13
GSD girl your puppy is just drop dead gorgeous, I used to have shepherds over 25 years ago and still have a soft spot for them.

GSDGirl
Cheers everyone for the replies and RallyValley, I was thinking of them (my physio took her rescue pup there) but wanted to know if anyone knew of anywhere else - I don't think benotto do pre-school, only classes once they're vaccinated - will have a look. I'm happy I can introduce her on play dates because my godparents have dogs and due to my godparents splitting, I haven't seen the two for a while and wanted to invite them over and now I'll have the pup here Plus there's an absolutely gorgeous and friendly Golden Retriever down the road from us who I'd like to introduce her to so she has someone role modeling good behaviour for her. :D
Casima
My puppy is 1 week old, this is my first time not getting a rescue dog so have never had to go through this before... how on earth does everyone cope with the wait till they come home? time is going so slowly and I am sooo excited! Hot Chilli
I am new here so sorry for jumping into this thread but it looks like it might be the right place to ask my question. Is it usual for breeders to not respond to enquires? I have contacted a few breeders in my State but haven't had a single response. It's my first time looking into buying a dog so maybe this is normal? We have been cat people all our lives but are now ready to have a dog join our family. After much research, debate and discussion we have chosen our breed carefully and fully understand the responsibility it entails. However being a not so common breed, we haven't actually seen one in real life. My requests have all been asking if we could view their dogs first to ensure we have chosen the right breed for us. Then, from there, discuss the possibility of a puppy in the future. We are happy to go on a register and wait. Am I doing something wrong?
mish13
From my experience not everyone gets back to you, I guess they probably get heaps of emails so don't get around to answering them all. Out of the approximately 15 I sent I got about six replies.Do they have phone numbers listed on the web sites if they do maybe give them a call. Dont give up the right breeder and puppy is out there for you, just one more thing have a look in here in the breed specific threads and see if there is one on your chosen breed. If there is you could go in there and ask questions. Good luck
Mason_Gibbs
No Hot Chilli it sounds like you are asking all the right questions. What breed are you looking at getting?
Hot Chilli
Thank you for your responses. The breed we are looking at is the Newfoundland. I have found the 'breed thread' and have read 10 out of 59 pages so far!!! I just don't want to jump in there and ask questions with barely any posts as they might not take me seriously???
