RiverStar-Aura
I know how excited you all are because I'm feeling the same way. I've been waiting for another Aussie Terrier pup for about 3 years; it was put on hold because I fell in love with my darling Zeus and I wasn't allowed another puppy. Then we lost our Poochie so I went Aussie hunting again. I found the best breeder ever, who lives in my suburb who has 2 bitches both of whom she breeds. The first mating didn't take but then the 2 girls both went into heat at the same time late last year. One girl's litter (of one pup) died and the other only had one girl puppy (who was already spoken for) so she contacted a friend who's girl whelped 7 Aussie pups on May 1st and I get first pick of her girls (there are 3). I'm going to meet them in a week's time and then I'll be bringing her home in the last week of June. It's all happening so fast; especially after waiting 3 years for a puppy! :D

SmoothieGirl
Very very cool Cassie. I went herding today and one of the regular dogs was there herding as well, he's a big beautiful Bernese too. Good with the sheepies!

cassie
Thanks all, we can't wait to bring him home. I feel bad as I am just joining this thread, yet we get our puppy in only five days time Whereas I know plenty of you have to wait such a long time. It all just fell into place though, I happened to contact my breeder the other day (same breeder I got Zephyr from) just to say hi, and she mentioned she was looking for a home for one very special little boy. She did have a home lined up for him but lately had been having a few reservations about them. So she offered for us to come and have a look. I had really wanted another Saint next as I do miss having a Saint in my life, but my OH prefers the Bernese, so we decided to go check this pup out and OHH MY GOSH we fell completely in love!!! (How could you not :D ) So maybe it was meant to be. I have some photos which I will add in the next day or so, just don't have my camera lead on me at the moment! RiverStar-Aura
I'm very excited for you Cassie and even though some of us have had to wait, I think waiting is part of the fun and excitement too! At the moment I'm trying to stop myself from bouncing off walls and have almost needed to chop up my bank cards; I've been buying way too much dog and puppy stuff!! Zeus is being completely spoiled and so is puppy and I haven't even met her yet! The only thing making me nervous is how Zeus will react with the new addition. I've only ever had one dog at a time and when I got Zeus, my beloved Poochie was nearly 16 and was only alive for about 6 to 8 months with Zeus. Poochie was also about the same size as the puppy (just much stockier in build) but Zeus is my daddy-long-legs dog weighing in at about 15 kilos. Can anyone offer suggestions on how to introduce the two? Zeus has been well socialised since puppyhood and loves to play with others; he's just very rough, bouncy and hyper! ETA: I'll definitely be taking lots and lots of puppy pictures during my visit! :D Edited May 29, 2011 by RiverStar-Aura

Smartypaws
How exciting Cassie!! If it makes you feel better, we were waiting another year or two for our latest edition, but when the pups were 4 weeks old we decided we couldn't turn down the opportunity of a pup from this litter....so technically our wait was only 4 weeks ;). Lucious.....too exciting!!! So close now! Can't wait to hear about his arrival and your first big hugs! RiverStar-Aura - congratulations to you....the time will fly ;). And Loki and Rupert are just way too cute! This will probably be my last post here as I am not waiting anymore . But I though you might like to share a couple of photos of Scout's first night with us....

Smartypaws
Squee! Look at his one-up-one-down ear combo! Very cute :D How is he settling in? He has been really great . Fantastic with the kids, calm, unphased by anything he has encountered (yet) and very smart.....we are conquering some training basics already. Last night he slept 10pm till 5am! The previous two nights were 4am and 2.30am. He then goes toilet and has a short play and then back to sleep, although he is not keen to go back in his crate at that time....crate training is a work in progress :D . He has not got the concept of weeing outside though, and no matter how long we spend outside waiting for him to "go", he waits until we are back inside and then promptly squats....that said, number 2's have all been outside. He is only 8 weeks old today...so we are cutting him some slack . Edited May 30, 2011 by Smartypaws
