stonecutter
Naomi - how long did it take you to get Archer's tag made and delivered from the US? I'm wondering whether I'll need a puppy size tag and then a bigger one for when Ziva reaches adulthood

It sort of looked like a mini medallion for a while but hes grown into it pretty quickly!
Naomi
Ziva is soooo cute!! It took about two weeks for the tag to arrive. I wish I had ordered a bigger one because it is smaller than what I expected. Oh well. Huga, today is the day!! Are you as excited as I am!! huga
I am uber excited :p Can't wait to go and get the little guy And I actually slept super well lastnight, probably because I had a crap sleep the night before
Naomi
I slept really well too! But that's only because I stayed up late and made my self super tired on purpose. Had a bit of a sleep in, which was nice. It will probably be my last one for a while.

Nadine83
Naomi and Huga- I am very excited for you both!! Can't wait to see the photos! You better not let us wait too long I woke about 6 times last night telling "Lady" (mum and her partners dog) to go back to her bed. We put up a gate at our bedroom door so she can see us but can't come in and we also put boxes as a barrier where the loungeroom starts. Little did we know that she could fit through the gap between the boxes so she kept escaping, LOL. Anyway, it shows me of what is to come "Lady" is snoring as I type. She must be as tired as I feel Edited March 11, 2011 by Nadine83
whiskedaway
Oh sleep deprivation. I'm so glad Halo is sleeping through the night now, though she had a crappy night on Monday and woke up twice through the night needing to pee. This morning I woke up with a Husky sitting on my legs - little cow has only once before gotten up on the bed during the night (the day she was desexed) and she did it twice last night because I know I kicked her off around midnight. Cheeky bugger. I'm amazed Halo didn't get upset knowing that Akira was on the bed like she normally does.
Nadine83
whiskedaway- Last time I had sleep deprivation was when my youngest (now 18mths old) was a newborn. It's all worth it though How long is it before puppies can sleep through the night? I just want to prepare myself mentally for what is to come
whiskedaway
By about 12 weeks Halo was sleeping until at least 5:30, sometimes even 6-6:30. We get up at 6:30, so 5:30 isn't too bad. She's now 15 weeks and wakes up when she hears the alarm go off. On weekends she normally wakes around 6:30-7:30, I take her to the toilet and then put her back to bed and if she's still tired she sleeps until 8 or 9. sheena
My BC puppy was born yesterday. Not sure which one to take yet, will wait till about 4 weeks before we decide. Was wanting a girl, but am now tossing up between the girl or a nice boy. I have never had a boy puppy before, only ever girls, so that could be interesting. Katie P
Wow I feel lucky! Chase slept the whole way through since when we brought him home at 10 weeks. He usually wont get up until I do (11pm-10am some days )

My Pointer is my first ever male and hmm it's interesting. Hard to compare the two as they are different breeds but my male is much more of a sook. But my girl is a sook, in a girly way I don't regret getting a male at all. He is a lot more independant than my girl though. I really love the male/female mix desexed of course! The breeder is holding the two of them for me till they are 4 weeks old & then we will decide (might have to flip a coin), First & foremost is has to be a companion, living in the house & going camping with us, but I will be training it as my second agility dog & I would like to get into herding some day. I have a stack of training DVD's to watch..pity you don't live closer, I could lend them to you.
Naomi
Sorry for the delay. I'm just about to post some pictures in Archie's thread. link I had a short notice interview for a high profile job today so it's been quiet chaotic. But Archie is a real gentleman and has settled really REALLY well.
DogNerd
Congrats to everyone who has their pup! I get to pick my boy up in exactly 3 weeks time!! I'm not sure who he is yet. I'm soo excited! Here's one of the two terrors (Tilly (poodle) and my parents dog) in the puppys big boy crate. I don't know if it's going to be big enough for when he's older. More shopping to do! Question on how everyones going about socialising- Are you going to walk your puppy around places (In arms) to help socialise? Does that pose a great risk? I've already planned to make play dates with known dogs but I've always wondered about the latter.
