I think we've got all of the essentials like dog food, chew toys and treats but I get the feeling that I'm missing something important I know how you feel about the wait....I only have to wait for a couple of weeks and it drives me crazy! Felt sorry for my colleagues at work, I've been talking about the dog non stop.

SmoothieGirl
Can't wait for the photos of this weekend's puppy pick ups. Ren has his first puppy school tomorrow, I'm really looking forward to it. Tonight he took himself outside to toilet three times and he put himself in his puppy play pen for a kip after his dinner and a play with Bronte - he's a clever pup. I think its all part of a cunning ploy Naomi, I have a feeling that his teenage stage is going to be 'interesting' he has a lot of sass, but he is clever and its certainly going to be an advantage during that time. Archer is lovely, I'm quite interested in Aussies, but I just couldn't go past another Smoothie this time round. Those three weeks will go fast, but at times it will still feel like too long before you get your bundle of fluffy energy.
Naomi
Well next time you get a pup it will have to be an Aussie. Now that I know which pup I'm getting and I know his name, I went ahead and ordered one of these awesome ID tags. link

Dxenion
Only 6 hours to go until our White Swiss Shepherd Dog 17 week old pup lands at the airport after a 30 day stint in Quarantine. This is the last photo of him in Quarantine - the next photos will be of him meeting his new family!
huski
If I call him Bert, Huski will smack me. And I have a friend that has claimed Ray.He's Sid anyway, I'm used to that now. Named after one of the kids from 'Skins' Bahahahahaha I just saw this. LOL. I can't wait to meet little Sid, I think you should have a puppy party when he comes home, and I'll be your guest He looks like such a character already! I am so puppy clucky at the moment, but I won't be bringing a pup home till next year so I've got a big wait ahead. ETA: I wouldn't have minded if you had taken Burt :p I doubt I'll be using it for my new pup cos I'm really keen to get a bitch. Bjelkier
A lot don't let you visit until after they've had their first shot. Yup - that's where we are at - we have to wait for first shots and vet check until we come visit, then they don't go home until they've had their 12 wk shot. 12 weeks? I though pups were usually sent to their new owners at 8 weeks. From what I understand the 8 - 12 week period is really crucial for a pups development and they should be settling into their new home, meeting other people and other vaccinated puppies. Unless the breeder does all this socialization with the litter? I would die if I had to wait 12 weeks. The breeder of my little Sydney boy isnt letting show puppies go to their new homes until they are about 9 or 10 weeks old, she just wants to make sure that we are getting the very best in the litter and I'm really thankfull for that. I think someone already said though it's pretty normal for small breeds to go later. I saw the Sammie pups yesterday, they are just over 4 weeks and sooooo cute! We have our favourites in the litter, now we just have to wait and see if we get one of them ;) And in other news my imported boy flies out from Poland today to arrive in Sydney on Wednesday  We are getting very excited now
huski
I wouldn't want a puppy any older than ten weeks at the most, but from my perspective that 8-12 week window is so crucial. I like to have my puppies at eight weeks so I can make the most of their critical development period. I understand breeders wanting to desex pups before they go to their new homes, but for me personally I wouldn't take a puppy older than 10 weeks. Can't wait to hear about your new boy Selena! Theresadn88
I just visited my Bichon Frise - Tobias today. I've been around the forums for a while and reading heaps on what to expect, and I can finally say it's definitely happening. ;) Toby is 6 weeks today and I should be picking him up in 2 weeks. There were four boys to choose from, and although the oldest 2 got my attention first with their fully formed features and playful attitude, I chose the smallest. I wouldnt consider him a runt because he was only a tad smaller. His feature's didn't look as mature as the others yet but he stole my heart with his cuteness and attention Here's a pic
DogNerd
So I guess I'm kind of offically waiting for a puppy! Lol. I'm not sure exactly how long I'll be waiting, as I'm hoping to get a show potential and they're around 3 weeks at the moment. I'm getting so excited but I'm nervous too. .
