Naomi
DL, that is great! I'm in the same situation. I can get either a boy or girl. We are leaning more towards the boy but it really does depend on their personalities. :D SG, woohoo! I still have a whole month. You are so lucky to have your pup coming home THIS weekend. Can't wait to see pictures of her.
stonecutter
Has anyone left it up to the puppy to choose you? That's our plan - we will spend an hour with all of them and see which one (boy or girl) likes us best. Our breeder doesn't do it any other way. That's our plan - we will spend an hour with all of them and see which one (boy or girl) likes us best. Our breeder doesn't do it any other way. The problem with this method is that often the puppy that 'chooses you' is simply the most outgoing pup. A few of my friends have used this method and they tend to end up with energetic, confident and dominant pups. Which is fine if that's what you are looking for! Our girl came to us from interstate so we only met her when she arrived - but the breeder was able to tell us about each pup's personality as they grew. We knew we were getting a happy, bossy, slightly independent but very sweet pup.

I couldn't do this as both of mine came from the East, I'm in Perth. Though both of my two were fate, Ivy was the last pup left in the litter as the breeder wasn't sure if she wanted to keep her or not but after many phone calls she let Ivy come to Perth  She's perfect for me. Badger was pick of the litter since he was born, he's a copy of his Dad, but his tail didn't sit right to be able to be shown and he was also my pick of the litter. The breeder was kind enough to let me have him! Badger is the perfect gentleman for my lifestyle. Both of my two had personalities as a pup that I was looking for. I agree with wuffles. Congrats Huga, very cute! How old is he/she?
stonecutter
Wuffles - I probably wasn't clear - we spend 1-2 hours interacting with all of the pups to see who likes me, who likes hubby, who likes both of us - and has the temperament we're looking for (ability to train for obedience is a must because of our neighbourhood, independent and happy to keep himself occupied if I'm working in my office). The breeder gets all adopters to do this seperately then assesses which puppy goes to whom (plus we were also asked to provide shots of our yard area, puppy living space, details of our weekly activities/timetable). When you first meet him and interact with his dogs (as well as pups) - I had the feeling it was like an audition - he watched how we interacted with them very carefully. I'm glad - means he cares a great deal about the homes they go to
huga
Congrats Huga, very cute! How old is he/she? Thank you! He is six weeks old and will come home at around 12 weeks. I'm so excited!
wuffles
Ahhh, that sounds good then stonecutter  Some people I know just pick the pup that comes straight to them and bites their fingers or falls asleep in their lap. huga, sooooo cute! I love white splotchy pups I was first in this thread about a year ago, crazy! My girl is now 14 months old. She is everything I could have hoped for and definitely a testament to finding the right breeder for you.

huga
He's a (extreme) pied Frenchie And yeah, the boys are excited. Well, Ollie is. He got to have a cuddle at the breeder's house the other day and has been asking 'Can we go and see Lola's puppy?' ever since  Ed is a bit too young to get the whole concept. Guest english.ivy
He's adorable! Awww I want another puppy  My baby is nearly 12 months old! I'm taking Badger on his first holiday in April. We're going to a B&B down south, which is very dog friendly
huga
It has been suggested that he is wearing a beret, so he needs a French name (even though Frenchies are English). It has been suggested that he is wearing a yarmulke, so he needs a Jewish name. It has been suggested that he is wearing a toupee, so should be named Ray (Martin) or Bert (Newton). So, after all that, I have decided that his name will be.... Sid. No reason, I just like the name and have had it picked out for a while Edited February 10, 2011 by huga

Bjelkier
Everyones puppies are beautiful! I'm getting very jealous as I still have a 5 week wait before I get either my Sydney bred boy or my Polish boy. But I do get to and see puppy next weekend and Yngvie that week after that while he is in doggie prison , so there will be lots of Samoyed photos in here soon. huga
If I call him Bert, Huski will smack me. And I have a friend that has claimed Ray. He's Sid anyway, I'm used to that now. Named after one of the kids from 'Skins'

I'm pretty sure it's quite normal to get all that variation. Good luck with your new girl. Huga- he's so so cute you must be so excited. I love your name choice I think it suits him. I am super excited and thanks The next 6 weeks are going to drag.
