Clastic - You seem to have a preference for two colours plus white for your BCs. There are different shades of brown on Pepper. They are both lovely. How are you dealing with them?

Lindainfa - Love the first pic. She is so cute.

borderfan, Verdant Amphibian, nicolatu & belgian.blue - Thanks for sharing your experiences! borderfan, I love doing questionnaires. I hope the breeder is interested in asking us lots of questions, and email lots of photos so we can get the best puppy for us. My boyfriend works away from home at the mine, so I'll have to look after the pup most of the time (which I don't mind!)

Verdant Amphibian - Aren't they lovely indeed! I had been searching for the most compatible breed for us since January. When I saw the description and pictures I fell in love with them. My boyfriend initially didn't like them (he likes to judge things by their looks) so I told him more about the breed (Good with kids, affectionate, loyal, good watchdog potential, moderately independent, intelligent, high activity level, likes to swim, etc.) he then quickly warmed up them.

We're planning to buy a ute later this year and he likes the idea of having the pup come for a ride with us everywhere, cruising in the back.

I will be getting my puppy from Lyn and Colin at Airewood. Lyn is wonderful and always willing to answer any of my questions.

belgian.blue - Deal! I live in South Lake if that's not too far south

Lindainfa and Clastic - Gorgeous puppies!!

Lindainfa - Lola is so cuuuute!!! Hehehe, I love her ears.. just adorable! My 2 are getting along well together, Mars loves to play with her.. they seem to stir each other up. Not the best-est of buddies yet, I think cause Mars doesn't think he needs to share any toys with her

nicolatu - Pepper was a preference, spoke to the breeder and we knew she was having a litter with chocolate and choc tri's, but Mars.. we stumbled across him. We were looking for a BC pup for a while and got on to a breeder that had just had a litter, got the pics and they were tri's. We originally wanted a girl, but they only had a boy left. OH was just straight out "No, its a boy.. oh well" but then I forwarded him the pics just to see and well, changed his mind in a second! He just couldn't resist the cute face. Pics are what we got from the breeder when he was younger. Now he's gotten to his lanky almost teenager stage!

Clastic- what a gorgeous puppy! Love the colour. He is a border not Aussie right?

Yes he's a border, not so cute anymore in his lanky stage.. but we still think he's gorgeous!

I wanted to get an aussie as a 2nd pup, but OH didn't seem to like the idea... :) Do you still have an aussie?

Oooh and how is little Mindy going??

Awww, aussies rock! Ava is pretty extreme on the energy/crazy scale, even for an aussie. She is so great to train, though. I'm hopefully going to take her to a herding clinic later in the year, maybe Mars would like to learn what to do with the sheepies too?

OMG Lola is ridiculously cute!

QBF -lol I know Lyn and Colin, Colin and my dad go bush together. It was his boy Sonny that I fell for.

Hey that's awesome :) I wished I lived close enough to visit them. I've only seen photos of Becky (the mama dog) and a few others on their website. All look wonderful!

I was wondering what breed size puppy food are you feeding Mars and Pepper? I am feeding Oreo Eukanuba Large Breed Puppy food.

Mars & Pepper are both on Eukanuba Medium Puppy, Pepper I don't expect to be over 25kg or or even close.. Mars however, he could go either way. He's quite slender, Mum was small and Dad was HUGE, but we suspect that he will be Mum's size.. so have kept him on Medium for the time being.

I know! After meeting Miss Ava I was like...awwww.. aussies are awesome!! Oooh yes, I wanna go to a herding clinic with him. There was one in Binalong (Near Yass) last month that the koolie club had on.. but its a bit early for Mars, since his recall isn't fantastic. (Need to work on recall while there are distractions) But yes, I believe Mars would love to meet some sheepies and see what he's gotta do. :) Which clinic were you thinking of going to??

Ava is also on medium breed and aussies are usually bigger than borders. I know that Ava was heaps bigger than Mars at the same age. She's now 17kg at 6 months old, she doesn't have that much more growing to do. Boys are bigger though so who knows.

Yep I am hoping to do one at Binalong depending on when the next one is :) Ava's recall is good, but around sheepies I don't expect her to listen much at all the first go! :)

Clastic- sadly my aussie passed away earlier this year :(

emery- your rottie puppy is adorable!

Mindy is going well, she is asleep at my feet now. We got her a pink blanket yesterday which is fluffy and she loves it. It is really good to have something that your pup knows is for resting on. I can move it around the house to whever I am and she will settle on it well.

I'm about to give her some lunch in her kong. She doesn't like banana, carrot or peanut butter which is quite unusual for a lab! She is eating or dry puppy bicuits well though so i am not worried.

we have puppy class tonight which is exciting. All the puppies will be large breed puppies which is exciting (usually they are small oodle type things and the owners freak out if larger puppies want to play with them). There will be a GR, a GRxlab, a rottie and a mastiffx and of course, Mindy.

Clastic - how gorgeous is she!!!!! Do they get along well now? Or are you still separating them?? Soo cute baby pics I'm so jealous!! Might have to email the breeder for more!

Linda - How cute is your puppy!!! Love the ears and her squished up nose

Nicolatu - we fed my old border Jordan Eukanuba large breed puppy, he was quite big for a border, very tall so we stuck with that. I will start Bailey out on what he is used to from the breeder and slowly transition across to large breed I think.

Off to pester breeder for more photos :(

Borderfan and Clastic - I am very confused on which would be better for Oreo. I was told that Border Collies is closer to large breed and they are hyper-active so large breed puppy food will be good for BCs' bones. But technically speaking, BCs are medium breed dogs. ARGH!

Emery - your girl is looking cute all curled up.

aussielove - Oreo NEVER sleeps on his bed. He sleeps everywhere other than his bed. Its weird because its now winter and he still prefers to sleep on tiles. Wondering what will he do when summer comes!

Its hard isnt it?? My old border was very tall and wasnt standard size so I was happy for him to be on large breed as was the vet's reccomendation. I wonder exactly how much difference there is between medium and large breed, I might look on the eukanuba website as this is something i'll need to know shortly myself.
