emery - your pup is so cute! He seems like he found something he loves to chew.

michelle - Oreo has the same eye colour as her!

Tez - You can join as long as you have piccys for us =D

My friend came to our house with her 8 weeks old puppy (maltese x shih tzu cross breed). Oreo was having so much fun riding on top of him. Imagine a 9kg puppy playing with a 1.2kg puppy. But my friend's puppy was more interested in sleeping so only a short play for him.

Here is the little guy who's coming from South Australia to live with us next month.

His name is Isaak and he's a very special little man. He will be co-owned with the breeder and is going to be shown in Vic, and handled by another DOLer.

OMG Lily no way! You will have to report back asap and let us know how it all works out. Is is really heart warming to see the stories of the older dog falling in love with the pup. Best wishes!!

Gayle - What a precious boy you have there - he is adorable!!

we picked up Jaws today, got him home about 3:30pm

he is so adorable, and he is fitting in perfectly!

our 2 cats are a little unsure - 1 has become quite comfortable in a short period of time, although a little while to go yet, but a lot more than we anticipated for the first day/night.

the second cat however is a little unsure, but both are in the house and atleast not panicking around.

we got a lot of photos already, however have had a long day and are pooped ourselves, so will post them up tomorrow

but we are extremely happy overall, and we have one happy family ;)

Just having a look back at this thread and drooling over everyone's beautiful puppies! Congrats to everyone and I hope its all been mostly plain sailing.

This time last year we had Jane, our labby cross as a pup and there were heaps of 'OMFG what have we done" moments. She was such a full on handful but it was all worth it in the end. And now Lochie gets to join the party so the fun begins again. I can't wait to really meet him and get to know him. He is going to be rather large so training will start from day 1. I may have to get a bigger bed though!!!

Hello everyone,

Damo ~ I am so glad Jaws is finally home, now you can brag and understand what I have been saying about Zoe :)

Gayle ~ Does your pup have blue eyes? They look blue in the pic but not sure as that can be deceiving. I love the fluffy look of puppies....so cute.

Tez ~ I think we all go through the "What have I done" stage at sometime in the first few months. I have done it a few times myself. But then Zoe does something to make me smile and I remember why I got her

I bought Zoe a round soft padded bed to go in her crate. She no longer has newspaper in there anymore.... :welcome: I thought when I woke at 6:15am to take her outside I'd find the bed torn to shreds and urine all over the bed :D but nope its still smells great. So not bad for a pup to be TT at night at 17 weeks....I must admit she is the quickest learner in all the pups I have ever had. TT during the day is mostly great, you may get the odd accident, but Zoe is now getting my attention to get out....so another :wave: so nice.

I have been wondering why I don't have pneumonia as its it so cold here, when I take Zoe out last thing at night I can hear the crunching of the grass as we walk on it. Plus she doesn't want to run and play anymore, its out do what she has to do and get back in  poor thing.

awwww look at Isaac, what a cutie pie. Far out his feet are HUGE, me thinks he's gonna be a big boy Gayle.

My husband keeps looking at that photo and saying the same thing! LOL! Chances are, he won't be at the top end of the size for the breed as neither of his parents are. In fact, his mum is quite little. But "good bone" is a desirable trait in an Aussie and by the size of those legs and feet, he is going to have very good bone.

Gayle ~ Does your pup have blue eyes?

I hope not. And I doubt it. He will most likely have dark brown eyes. They are probably still the puppy blue he was born with but they'll be brown by around 8 weeks.

I just found out which puppy we are getting! Feels more real now. It was our second choice (which I actually think was my hubby's favourite). I actually had a dream last night that we got that one. I must be psychic!

Gayle - Isaak is adorable - just gorgeous!

Emery - lovely photos.

Damo and Jaws - sounds like a great first day with Jaws. Your cats sound like they are doing really well. I think one of mine will be okay but I don't think the other one will be impressed at all. Can't wait to see photos.

Bluefairy - Zoe has done so well with her TT. She is such a good little girl. I'm dreading the late nights and early mornings out in the cold doing the toilet run!

Magstar - I'm sure the puppy will be the perfect one for you.

Lily ~ I agree standing out on the crunchy frozen grass, in the ice cold at 6:30am is not my idea of fun ;) Zoe thank heavens doesn't like it either, so she does her business quick and runs inside to the warmth. I am extremely grateful for that :p

Gayle ~ The eyes look a light colour in the picture, but then it could be the angle or the flash.

Another dry night. I think I can honestly say she has mastered the art of holding on until morning  at least I don't have to wash her blankets everyday anymore.

Magstar ~ I also agree, its the pup that was meant to be. Congrats.

Hi everyone...Lochie, now renamed Gus has come home and is recovering from his desexing at a fast rate.

He came home last night and we kept the dogs separated as it was a pretty scary day for him all up. Him and my 14 month old labby cross have spent the morning getting to know each other and I have just separated them so they can both have a well needed rest. At the moment he is crying in the sitting room which is breaking my heart but I must remain strong as he does have to learn to settle by himself. Pictures ARE coming but I warn you all with your very very cute puppies, he is not very photogenic!!!!

Poor lad, my girl is hyper excited to have her very own puppy but I'm sure she will settle down soon and accept the fact that he is here long term. Must be hard for her as although she has been socialising with other dogs from day1, it has always been for a limited time...an hour or 2 at most!

If anyone has any thoughts or ideas on how to help them both relax with each other I would be very grateful!
