Great news Diddles you are keeping him. Think it would have been hard to send him back. His breeder sounds like a great person and cares about him as well. He is one lucky puppy and am sure he will bring you years of pleasure. What is his name?

His name is Winston, we are looking at one to begin with which will adjust where his hips sit, and then go from there, may end up two hip replacements. We are going to keep on top of his diet and work with alternate therapies as well, I am back to the vet this week to get a referral to a specialist.

Didles ~ I just wanted to say I am glad you are keeping Winston (gorgeous name). I had a Long Haired German Shepherd pup that had Hip Displasyia(?) he was 8 months old when I had to surrender him as we moved from the UK to Australia. My parents wouldn't let me bring him over. He was a great dog and was never in any pain. I was told the only problems he would have would turn up as he got older, and that only mentioned Arthritis, which could be eased with meds. I just wanted you to know its not a life of pain and suffering like it sounds. You can't ever do the agility trials or encourage jumping sports, but other than that he would live a great life. My dog Shane became a workmans constant companion, so he was well loved like Winston will be.

Good Luck

BF

We picked up Ruby this morning and spent the day playing and exploring. The kids absolutely LOVE her to bits already and she is such a funny little thing. She eats really well and has made herself right at home. No accidents as yet, she has been holding on till we take her outside.

Didles - I am so sorry your little guy has problems. How did you know something was wrong? He is absolutely adorable!!

Here is our little girl...

By god, the boy sleeps though! I knew he'd spend a lot of the day sleeping, but I'm still surprised. Hah, someone reassure me - every dog sleeps this much, yes? I'm feeling a bit unwell today though, so it's good that he's lazing around with me.

Wanna swap? :( Ours is go, go, go all the time. Our older dog is 5 and such a placid boy, this puppy sure has been a learning curve for both us and him!

Welcome home Winston and Ruby.

Well we are not long home ourselves as sadly we got caught in a hail storm and looks like my car might be written off.

Lola (well we think thats going to be her name) is going well. Just had some dinner and not fazed by much. Will get some pics for you all tomorrow promise.

Didles: I am glad your family all made the decision and whats best for little Winston. Sounds like your breeder is fab though which is great.
