Welcome MAD...this thread really helps pass the time a little and it's great talking to people who fell the same way you do!

Oakey - Luckily we have moved to a property now and there is usually someone at home at most times and she will be well out of sight of neighbors or people in the area.

Welcome Mad.

RR: Thats terrible that someone stole your pup, people are just heartless.

OD: Are you clicker training as well?

Hope Didles kids are getting their surprise of their lives right now.

littlehoot, do I assume that you'll be clicker training? Discovered that Badger LOVES cheese.. I know its not the best thing to feed little puppies but I find if I mix in a few pieces into his regular treats then its 'pot luck' which treat I take out and it keeps him interested.. He's so good at the sit that I thought I'd try a sit/stay and he can now do one with me 2 big steps away from him. Didn't push him any further cos our sessions are still very short but clicker training definitely works for us..

Its all a little surreal now. I am just waiting on the Canberra Royal Results to be posted to see if both the breeders will be home or if one will still be in Canberra.

Just hoping a little rain comes soon as cools it down around here. Dont want to travel a pup in the heat.

James is home!!

Been a bit rough so far - I'm exhausted! And he's conked out on the living room floor next to me

He cried for start of the trip home. I felt so bad for him. Eventually he settled down and slept, occasionally waking up for a small cry.

Toilet training is just confusing! Lol. We popped him on the lawn as soon as we got home and he just plonked himself down for a nap, so we took him inside and he does a wee  All is good though. He's since done a wee outside, although he should have a full bladder right now whilst he's sleeping. But, once again, when I took him out prior to his sleep, he just found himself a pile of dirt and fell asleep. I'm going to have to get the hang of reading his signals :)

Looking forward to news from Didles! Your kids will be so thrilled!!

MAD ~ Welcome to the Puppy Countdown Thread :cheer: Yes I have a little way to go, it might be longer or shorter yet....I haven't even got my name down on a list yet, as we don't have all the money and until OH goes back to work we won't be getting anymore  hopefully though he goes back in Mid-March.

YAH!!! to James being home

Didles ~ We need our Bulldog puppy fix pics.....NOW!!!! :) how is he going?

I am going shopping with OH and the girls tomorrow, as we need outfits for my son's wedding at the end of March :cheer: And my oldest daughter (not the ones at home) has just announced she is 8wks 1 day pregnant :cheer: that makes baby #4 for her and 5 grandchildren for me :)  So its going to be a great and busy year

Yay! James is home! Now we just have to wait for some pics! I forgot you were fetching him today, Niques.. So sorry

You'll get the hang of his signals pretty soon.. Before Badger does a poo, he looks at his bum and jumps as if he's been bitten by a fly or something before actually squatting. I was quite concerned the first time he did it but he does it EVERY time.. Quite funny to watch! :) (If only his wee signal was so obvious.. )

Looking forward to hearing how your first night goes..

Im not 100% decided yet as I am not sure it will still work with show training. Dont want to confuse her. But yes it it wont effect her show training then I will be.

This time tomorrow we will be on our way home with her.

clicker training won't affect any show training littlehoot - clicker training is just using a noise (clicker) to mark a behaviour that you want - you then reinforce with a reward ... you don't need to use a clicker but can use a word (such as good or ok) ... clickers are the tools not the method .....

:curtsey:

everyone's puppies are very very cute ... our little boy is almost 14 weeks old and I can't believe how quickly time as flown by .... and they grow like weeds once you get them home so remember to stop gazing at them long enough to take a tonne of photos as they literally grow overnight
