Congrats jerojath, excellent news and LOVE the timing :(

Regarding Irish names, if you have any reddish coloured pups, Cu Rua (pron: Koo Roo-a) means "red dog". Apart from that you've got the classics like Cuchulain, Brigit, Dagda, Morrigana, Angus Og (pron Ogue rhyming with brogue) - these are all gods/goddesses. Bana Drui means chief Druid, Bansidh (ie banshee) for a howler lol. That's all I can think of for now :(

On this front, Sunny's doing a great job of keeping us in suspenders! She's thrown up for 2 days in a row, off her food a little but chooses to sleep instead  Must be gearing up energy for the 2am rush :o

Sounds like things are starting to gear up Sol. Good luck for a successful whelping. Deja hasn't been off her food but wants to lay around all the time. I don't mind as it allows me to watch the football match going on in her tummy. :(

Congratulations Ish, sorry to hear about the one that didn't make it.

Are GSD's normally that dark at birth and lighten with age or will they be dark coloured puppies?

Usually born dark and fade with age to the typical tan/gold and black markings

These pups should have nice dark masking on their faces though, the smaller/less tan markings as pups, the more likely they'll stay dark

Temp was down at 37.3 this morning and there was some lovely clear mucus coming away so I am sure it is not long now. Only problem is she is sleeping on MY bed in the whelping room :o

I'm to soft to move her so i will let her get some rest while she can. Deja still ate dinner tonight but couldn't get all the way through. That is the only time she has ever not finished her bowl.

SnoFyre - I know exactly what you mean!

My girl whelped her entire litter on the sofa and she was so comfy I didn't have the heart to move her!

Once she'd finished, she was more than happy to be moved into the box but not after completely ruining the sofa.

The next day I had to buy a brand new mattress and cushions as they were wet with blood.

The OH wasn't impressed.....

Best of luck with your imminent babies! :o
