Duralactin

Just wondering if anyone here has used duralactin? Its marketed mostly at chronic joint pain... claims to have a strong effect on inflammation in the body. I've seen a little on people using it for skin inflammation from allergies... and I just wanted to see if anyone had any experience with it.

Thanks!

The vet I take my dog to for acupuncture gave me some for a trial (a months worth) that she had been given by her visiting american friend who was also a vet. She said everyone was talking about it being the best thing since sliced bread for joint issues etc....

Because most natural supplements take more than a month to be shown to have any effect, I went online to order some more.

This was early last year. It wasn't available at the time here in Australia (don't know if it is yet either) so I had to order it from an American website. I bought a lot seeing as postage was expensive.

A couple of weeks later, I got a letter from Customs telling me unless I had an import licence or something, they weren't going to let it into the country because the product is made from dried cow's milk. Should have known better before I ordered the stuff to check these things out :(

The website I bought it from were useless with their communications etc so I wasn't even able to end up returning it so it would have been destroyed bu Customs.

My vet has since given me more sample packs but none more that a months worth at a time. From memory, I think I did notice an improvement however nothing more than anything else I was using.

I guess it's one of those things you might have to try as all dogs being different etc.

Never heard of it, would be interested to hear more if anyone gets more info or results on it.

I'll let you know what we find out... it is sold as a human supp under the name (Microlactin) and I'm sure I've seen something in the health food store... so that may be an avenue to follow, if its not here as an animal supp.
