Doggy Boots

 Share

Recommended Posts

Our Maddie has developed irritated pads on all her feet. She will be fine for a few days, then one foot gets sore, over night she can change to hopping on another foot. We have searched for the irritant, teh vet is at a loss as to the cause and we have tried to eliminate non - allergenic substances such as exposed aggregate footpaths etc.

Our vet has now suggested that we try boots to protect her pads from contact with what ever is causing the issue.

Has anyone used doggy boots? Can anyone recommend a certain brand / style etc?

Any help really appreciated.

I tired them on my Pug and the family fell over laughing. ;) It was impossible to go for a walk we laughed that hard! :(

He was walking like one of those high stepping stallions. To be honest, I never did get him out the door and I haven't put them back on him again since although I had every intention to. They fit him fine although they did slip off several times and doing them up firmly enough so they don't fall off is tricky.

Good luck. If you had small dogs I would send these to you to trial beofre you spent money on new ones.

I've had to use them on my girl, she has an injury to her back and so wears to toe pads down on one hind quite badly. You can buy cheap ones off ebay or more expensive ones on line.

I have found this style to be the better ones, I have a collie so around the same size as your labs but not as high energy:

They will stamp around in them at first but they get use to them just be aware they can slip so you need to get the size right and do up the lower velcro firmly.
