Teebs
p.s Good on you Teebs, I'd love my pants to fit better... I just got home from an hour walk, included with abusing someone for not only having a puppy off lead running all over the road, but screaming at it and having it cowering in fear... but i think they did get the point and told me they might bring a lead next time! I have no choice now, i have 2 pairs of pants that fit me and i can not afford to feed myself, let alone go clothes shopping! so i have to lose weight!!! WildatHeart
What a great idea!!! Unfortunately, I wont be of any help. I haven't walked my dog for over 12 months. Instead, she trots along behind me while I ride the horses down the road, so she gets about 4km most days of the week. Gees, i can even remember the last time i used the lead. tez
Great Thread! How I miss winter when I could zoom home and take Jane out for a walk straight away...no time to think about it (Although I do remember whinging ALOT about wet soggy feet lol)! Now I come home and look at the bright blue sky, then look at my beautiful black dog and we have to wait and wait and wait til its alot cooler...Summer sun and black coats make Jane one very stubborn girl. ITS SOOO HARD TO WALK LATER WHEN I'M TIRED AND HUNGRY!!! Sooo...I'm in...went out tonight at 7.15 and really enjoyed it. Went to the local fenced in showgrounds and did a few circuits off lead with some obedience training thrown in,then continued on around town. When we got home, I was surprised to see we had been gone for an hour!!( lots of sniffing included so it was no marathon) If I was really dedicated, I would weigh myself now and then again in a month BUT forget it...everyone just looks at my beautiful dog anyway so too bad so sad!!! Cuchulain
10 minutes this morning (round the block at the workshop) with some sniffing and we had a riot on the beach this afternoon. We met a nice lady with an adult Ridgie and a SWF. Max and the Ridgie (called Neptune) had a whale of a time playing off-lead for about 10 minutes before we saw some other dogs heading our way and we had to put the guys back on lead. She then headed off to finish her walk (she does Supertubes to the Main Beach and back twice a day! and she was only half way when we distracted her) and we ambled back to the car, sniffing all the exposed rocks (low tide) and all the beached seaweed - it was fun! Daisy
Well done everyone It was the lovely Matilda's turn for a half hour walk this morning ;) Tildy is a lab x shepherd that I rescued from Hawkesbury Pound. Nobody can understand why she wasn't adopted from the pound, and why she is still here as she is a lovely girl, very attractive and soft-natured. Just wondering if people would like me to put a list of dog-walkers in the first post so we can keep an eye on who is walking and who isnt! If you would like me to put your name in the first post just let me know Ok have to run now, a trip to the beach today then when I get home I have to do the shopping for my son's farewell party tomorrow night, as I have to work tomorrow so won't have time to shop then! BittyMooPeeb
Add me to the list Daisy. I resolved (a few weeks ago) to walk the show dogs more often to try and muscle them up a bit. So far I have walked them a total of 0 times . Time to name and shame me I think.
MsKatie
Please add me to the list - but won't be starting till the 18th of January as I am on holidays till then - Rosie really needs a daily walk in the morning - as will the new pup - and the kids ...and i def. think Rosie and I need another very brisk walk in the evening......... Pepper and Jax
Add me to the list and then tell me off for not going for a walk this morning. Pepper woke me at 5.30 am to go out, so she went out and I went back to sleep, and at some point I must have turned off the alarm because when I next woke up it was too late. I'm a bit cranky with myself

Casima
I think I will join in here. I have been feeling really sick for the last 6+ weeks and it doesn't look like I will be any better anytime soon. My poor dogs have been missing alot of walks because I've just felt too lousy, we used to go pretty much every day but they have been lucky to go twice a week lately. So I have 3 crazy active dogs at home climbing the walls Due to the heat I try to get to the park about 1 hour before sunset and leave once its dark. I cheated and read this thread and started before I posted to see if I could do it first From last wednesday onwards I am going to take my dogs to the park for about an hour every day (except in bad weather) no matter how lousy I feel! if I feel sick I can just sit on the seat and throw a ball, if I feel ok we can walk. And as incentive to make sure I don't wuss out, any day where I don't end up going for whatever reason other than weather, I will take them for a walk on leash in the street instead even if it ends up being after dark (ugh, walking 3 big high drive high energy dogs on leash at once isn't very much fun so its a good reason to get off my butt and go to the park!) Day 1 - Wednesday - 1 hour walk at park Day 2 - Thurs- 1 hour ball fetch and swim at park Day 3 - Friday - 1 hour walk at park much happier more settled dogs at home now
Cuchulain
:D Max and I did the 10 minute morning stroll around the block with a little bit of training. Then this afternoon my dad came with us to the beach which meant we could stay longer and walk further. THANKS DAD!! Also it was low tide so there was stacks of interesting stuff to investigate and miles of hard sand to walk on. We were there about an hour but it was spoiled for me by a golden retriever with no owner running riot up and down the beach. It was very difficult to keep Max under control as he kept wanting to run off after this <insert expletive of choice> dog. It also meant no off-lead time at all on the beach and I was a bit disappointed by that since Max enjoys it so BUT with him acting like a total tit there was no way I was going to take a chance and let him off. Oh well, perhaps my dad will feel like another walk tomorrow and we can try again Fixed my spelling, sorry Edited January 8, 2010 by Cuchulain
