I think in both photos, the after looks more like you've superimposed Cooper over the top. Can you bring the clarity on him down a little so he blends a little bit more? That being said, if he didn't have such a contrasting background behind him, I like the shots of him better with the editing, if that makes sense.

Shell I know exactly what you mean, I think if I had of got the actual cliff top in the shot as well it wouldn't look so over the top if that makes sense, but I was using my 50 mm and I just snapped the shot and didnt have time to move back to get him all in, anyway think Ill just go with the the first shot for my 52 weeks. Thanks for your help.

A quick question, with the DOL gorup on flickr 52 weeks for dogs, Do I actually have to add the photo each week to the group or is my set of CJ connected to the group somehow, Now that I've written this down I see it sounds sill and I figure I have to add the photo each week??

tlc - are you using lightroom? If so, either use the brush to bring down teh contrast (and maybe the saturation) of the blues a tad or go to the blue sliders and have a little play. That background is a little wild  I do like the doggie in your edit so I'd mask around him if I used the brush.

Thanks Kristen, I am using lightroom, I didnt do anythign to the back ground and the water was very blue yesterday but i could have toned it down but I liked that it was blue, I did make it to aqua ish in the first lot. I am not good with experimenting in LR, I just wanna get it done quick and Im too impatient, I need to learn to experiment and find what works best! Thanks for your help, also trying to not have so many shots in the middle, still not great but working on it for sure!!

Hi tlc, I have a D80 also & usually find the colours come out very true to life. However, just wondering what colour mode your camera was set to? Maybe changing the colour mode from IIIa to Ia would tone down the background a bit when taking portraits against such a vivid background? I am no expert, so would like to know what others think.

Some great photos everyone, TLC, I preferred the middle photo. Terranik - the pizza and drink photo is too funny

Anyway it got to late Sunday afternoon and I hadn't taken my photo of Bella for the week, so I quickly went and took this one. Luckily I have next week's planned which I am taking tomorrow
