The Spotted Devil
Congratulations Rubystar and TerraNik You must be thrilled! DSO - that's one smart dog you have! She was just saving you time and effort We haven't trialled since the Dally Nationals so it was nice to stretch our legs at Warragul's agility trial yesterday. Zig ran so well all day and there were a few 'oh so close!' moments. We finally put it all together for a 1st place and qualifying score in Novice Agility - it wasn't the easiest of runs with some very awkward turns and obstacle temptations but he responded really well to my direction. It was quite a wet day but none of the forecasted thunderstorms eventuated so it wasn't too bad. Good luck to all those who hung around for a second day - one was enough for Zig and I have a puppy to play with, not to mention a heap of gear to clean and dry out I also had the pleasure of meeting Vickie and her daughter Chloe - I recognised their dogs straight away Edited November 14, 2010 by The Spotted Devil

Luke W
Congrats on your pass TSD!!! It was tough out there with the long, wet grass. We left the Warragul trial a little early on Saturday - Barkly seemed a little stressed and unfocused. I decided to give him a break on Sunday, so we stayed home. I managed to get a a pass in his first ever masters jumping run - so that was pretty cool. We only just made time because he's pretty slow in the wet long grass. But still - a good effort for the little guy. I might end up scratching him from a few runs at Warringal - depending on conditions and how keen and focused he seems. The Spotted Devil
Great run in Masters Luke - I didn't realise Yes, I went slipping and sliding in an Open Jumping run which was pretty entertaining - Ziggy was most confused I'm sure young Barkly will be jumping out of his skin before long - he's a sweetie :D Thanks Tiggy

The Spotted Devil
It's a bit cheeky but it stems from the breed threads....horus and his Dallies keep 'invading' the Springer thread and the thread title says 'Springmatians welcome'. I couldn't resist
Ptolomy
You are such a neat handler RubyStar She sure is ;) Well done again Rubystar + Millie - you were both stars on Friday night. :D Now make sure you bring a popping bottle to the last trial of the year so that we can "pop" it again before the trial starts
Paul Bright
I have my first brag worth posting. I've trained all three dogs the whistle recall. This is the recall I've dreamed about, the dogs turning on the spot and running straight back to me. It was pretty easy with the boys, they like to keep close and check in but Sophie was a different story . Great job with this!!! Whistle recall is a good way to teach your dog basic commands as well like sit and stay. But COMING WHEN CALLED is something more difficult especially when dogs love to play and run around. You must have the ability to recall your dog, no matter what the situation or other temptations. Great job!!! :D
smisch
Geeeze we're back a few pages arent we.. What happened did we all go on holiday or something? Well Came up to Gympie this weekend (leaving tomorrow) for an Agility Trial and boy did we come back with more than expected Den was a totally different dog to run.. I am trying a new routine which involves completely and utterly appreciating every little thing that dog does even if it is completely terrible as he is doing what he can at the time.. Start lines are abolished as we stress out way to much with them which leads us to slow choppy unconnected runs and we have a warm up and cool off routine and mistakes are not even noticed in the ring we just keep on going... It really did work and pay off.. I'm gonna start working SLS back in next year but in a fun way.. Den ended up winning the Masters Jumping and Excellent Agility and placed 2nd in Open Agility.. JDO well 10 is a great number of weave poles aye.. but apart from that he was amazing.. I dont think I could have chnaged anything about us.. except for one stupid turn on my part but we fixed it :D So a weekend off then our final trial aiming to finish our ADX if not next year is great too :D

Tassie
OK - we have a tiny Rory obedience brag My lil big man got 1st place (98/100) in his Grade 2 test at club today - about pre-CCD equivalent - all on lead. I channeled Ptolomy and must have done it reasonably well, as his heel work was super - and he managed his stand stay, and recall and the returns. And managed his stays (between 2 dogs for the first time, and with his arch enemy Dobe only one dog away - the Dobe was being good too) - we lost the two points for a minor movement I made to make sure he didn't move in the sit stay - don't know if he was really going to, but wasn't going to take any chances even if it failed us. Hmmm - maybe trialling him next year is going to be a possible. And thank you for those vids of you and Cider, Ptolomy. :D
