2010 Brags Thread

Yep DSO Kenzie had her debut agility trial today and ran nicely but with no quallies. She is more dog then I am use to handling - her two JD runs weren't bad. A few dropped bars and some refusals due to me not handling her quite right. My brag for today though would have to be her absolutely stunning JDO run. I handled Ness around the course first and made a total mess of it. Kenz came out and other than a few desparation bits was flying. The only fault she made was she tipped the Broad Jump and I suspect it was handling related as that bit got seriously messy. Her weaving entrance however was stunning  . In fact she had a few people comment to me after about just how nicely she handled it for a baby dog. It certainly wasn't the nicest of entries and she really did nail it. Extra special since the weaving poles aren't the normal ones we train with (we usually train with white base plates or white stick in the ground) and these were black and white striped stick in the ground ones. Not the nicest poles. Was well and truely under STC (~31 seconds on a 37 second course) and with me stuffing around with a few jumps. Heaps of potential.

Any way will upload video later - so pleased with my little midget.

Huge thanks to Rivsky who wasn't entered but answered my plea to come so I could have somebody available to video without having to worry about nabbing somebody at the last minute.

We had two ADAA trials this weekend and some great results!

We got a quallie in Elementary Jumping and in Starters Jumping today! Very nice, fast, focussed work. Really close in the agility too, just one refusal because I couldn't get there in time to support the line (nice fast courses today). His contacts were great both days. Yesterday we had issues with off course tunnels  but some nice work too (more twisty courses yesterday).

Getting there!

Well done on your results - but can I ask which dog it was with?

Did you get any of the runs on video???

Glad to hear that you and Kenzie survived the day - looking forward to seeing the runs on video and Bugger about Ness - so close yet so far.....

But there is always next trial!!!!!

This was with Kaos

I didn't get any on video - every time I get video it ends up a shocking run so I've stopped videoing for a while  I should video again as we have gotten heaps better.

Hmmm ok maybe I shouldn't have watched the JDO video I don't think she tipped the BJ at all :D :cry::cry: . Ah well not going to lose any sleep over it its a lovely run and she did very well  .

It was possibly worth a refusal call because I had to send her around me but definitely didn't tip the jump.

Ness, I can't see where Kenzie failed Open Jumping :D It looked like a few refusals, but the judge didn't appear to call them as such, so I can't see why she didn't pass that. Then again, I'm an agility noob so no idea!!

Well done Kavik and Ness.

Brilliant run with Kenzie apart from a couple hick ups lol I would say it was a refusal at the broad jump though. Nice entry to the weavers considering from what I have heard quite a few dogs missed it.

My brag for the day Gabby got another 2 passes in ADM making that 6 with 1 more to go and another pass in JDM what a girl. Inka got another pass in ADM with a second and she did her see saw and stopped on it yipeeee.

Off to Perth tomorrow with the long drive ahead. O what joy!

Xena - the judge said she knocked/tipped the BJ not that she refused the BJ which is why I was a bit confused. If she had said she had called a refusal on the BJ I'd have agreed totally but there was no refusal called. :D  :D

Ah well not about to lose sleep on it - pretty chuffed with that run, especially if you compare it to her sisters disaster performance which wasn't really a disaster only it was so much slower and less fun  . Kenz has plenty of trials ahead of her to qualify.

Very pleased considering she was happy, drivey, midget and didn't seem spooked with stewards, the judge, timekeepers, or people standing around on the edge of the ring. In fact I am not even sure she noticed they were there which is great news.

RubyStar the only jumping class with weavers is Open Jumping.

Kenzie's open jumping round was brilliant, she's fantastic in the weave poles too! Never mind, she has many more trials ahead!

Here are my two videos from Friday night, thanks to ozjen for being camera lady:

He's a bit slower than normal (so was I :D ) But we were both very scared ;) Need to find some good motivation for him, food doesn't really cut it in these situations!!
