2010 Brags Thread

I think someone has stolen my dog and replaced him with a collie wrapped in labrador clothing. A few weeks ago I was bragging that he had cracked 5 seconds in a flyball run for the first time, well now he has run 4.7 seconds two comps in a row and was still running under 5 seconds at the end of the day.

He is doing so well Paul, you must be proud .

Thanks Clover, I am thrilled, I really thought that he might just crack 5 seconds and that would be it but he has blown away everyone in the club with his new speed. Even better my other dog, after nearly a year and a half in beginners, today completed her first full run without dropping the ball, running around, not even bothering to get the ball or even taking off to chase some dog doing obedience! We may have another speedy lab ready for the nationals. :D

Well done with Beans and Lexi  :D Brookie and Scooter are the founding members of the "one bar freddie club" any more members?!!???
Lexi won excellent jumping today so she now has 8 JDX passes  2 more and I can apply for my JDX2 title  She also went clear in a rather tricky masters agility course - but was just over time.

Beans - my little velcro dog who has no skills at all - managed 6 jumps in a 7 jump distance challenge today in open agility - just knocking the back bar of the spread on jump # 7 - boy did she get a huge jackpot for this one

Scoota has been renamed one bar freddie

Yep Inka I think she deserves to be in the "one bar fredie club"

Congratulations Amypie and Kyzer and everybody else who has passed. Well we managed a few nice passes in open jumping and open agility and Gabby passed master jumping. Forget master agility though. I got into another couple of finals Gabby in master jumping and Inka open jumping so I am lucky to be in 5 classes. I am so happy with young Gabby for only having trialled in agility since June long weekend last year she has done so well. I am very proud of her. Inka also got best overall border collie and best veteran (that's a bit sad lol)

A minor brag compared to the work some of the wonderfully advanced dogs do in obedience and agility, but one that has tugged my heart strings :swear:

My 7 1/2 year old girl, Enya, managed her second CCD pass today

Around 4 years ago Enya serverly damaged her foot by putting it through a window, resulting in the loss of control to the two middle toes and a very flattened foot. This causes her to become footsore very easily and as she is aging, she is getting sorer in her foot. Some local people will have seen her as the small, cuddly, Rotty with the booties

Her foot injury prematurely ended her Conformation career on a score of 72 points  So, we switched to obedience.

12 months ago she got her first CCD pass, which was a thrill for us both. Then, in August last year she competed in her next trials and she was just too sore :) I felt awful for making her compete at all, even though she loves doing obedience, and I retired her.

Over the past few months we have started doing obedience again, because come Wednesday night she would be a pain (Wednesday night is obedience training night) if she didn't get to go, and her lameness has much reduced thanks to Jointguard and her boots. I made the half reluctant decision to give it one last bash for her to see what would happen.

Well, yesterday was her first trial back - she lagged badly in the heeling and totally missed her recall. I could have cried, thinking again that I was pushing her foot too much.

Today, in Albury - earlier in the morning, cooler temperatures, and with more time spent revving her up, playing and cuddling before we went into the ring - and giving it a try with her boots off because the grass was lovely and soft and springy - she performed beautifully and achieved a glorious pass of 91/100 and placed 1st in the CCD ring. :(:):) She had a wonderful time and is now totally crashed out on the bed

Thanks Corowa and Albury for again running such well run trials. Albury, we will be back in July to try and get that final pass
