Dutchess
I have a 11 week old puppy and we're preparing for her 12 week immunizations which need to be done on Friday. I'm just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on good vets in the inner west area? I know of a few, and have taken my fathers dog to sydney animal hospital in Newtown, but haven't had much experience with other vets or with taking a puppy to the vet. Just wondering if there are any inner westies out there that could recommend a god vet?? Thanks a lot
Danois
You have named the one vet I would avoid except for routine vaccination, nail clip or in an emergency due to their opening hours. I am in Inner West and travel to Pennant Hills for my vet because it is a vet I trust. There is not a lot of choice in the area - there are 2 Syd Animal Hosps, another just past the pub around Dulwich Hill and the Syd Uni. I'd go Syd Uni out of the available options. Laika
I use Sydney Animal Hospitals at Stanmore and if you see the more senior vets there they are excellent. I do a lot of rescue work so in and out of there quite often. And sometimes with rescue cases you get some unusual things crop up. There is also Tanya Carter at Haberfield Veterinary Clinic. Excellent vet that has had the practice for many years. I have used her for many years with my own animals. I've used Sydney Uni years ago and didn't go back again as the vet was so rude. However last year I had a kitten that saw a specialist in there and she was excellent. Not sure where in the inner west you are but I also see an excellent vet at Bankstown Veterinary Practice. A friend even drives all the way from Wollongong to see her. PM me if you want any more details. Sometimes I think it is a matter of trial and error and finding out which vet suits you. grantwit
Seems like youre closer in to the city, but the inner west vet that i would recommend (if you dont mind travelling a bit from your location) would be Alice at the Concord Animal Hospital (located at the Concord West train station). Id give them a call first to check when she is in (there are 2 other vets there, Alice is in most days though) but she has taken care of all my animals. Dutchess
Thanks so much for the replies, I'll have to call around to a few of the suggested vets and get her an appointment. All of your help is very much appreciated
grantwit
Concord Animal Hospital doesnt take appointments. They are open 9-12 and 4-7 weekdays and i think 10-5 sat and sun. Never have to wait long either.
