mzj3n
Hey guys, I have a 9 month Pembroke Corgi and he has been acting a little funny lately. He is fully house-trained and lately he has been funny in not telling me when he needs to go (as he always tells me and let's me know) or does number 2's outside and then straight after like literally 5 mins later he does another one but hides it and just now he was sleeping. He must of been dreaming of running somewhere then started whimpering while sleeping and then he awoke and moved closer to me and saw he peed a little puddle while asleep. I dunno if this is normal or what? should i be worried that he has infection or is it just him growing up? Can anyone help? Mim
Could it be a urinary tract infection? I do know it's not unheard of for dogs to need a reminder in toilet training around 8/9 months old but peeing in his sleep is unusual. Was it definitely urine? He didn't get water in there somehow (a wet toy or belly)?
mzj3n
yeah he is weeing as normal and it was wee coz his mat is nearly light colour and is easy to see if he does wee (plus the smell but was as heavy smell of wee if that makes sense) and he only brought in his bone but he went fast to sleep in his crate .. its only happened once so far but its unusual for him .. i was thinking it would UTI but wasnt sure. Mim
Is he desexed? When Ziva and Daina reached 7 months they both marked their bed, they didn't do it again after being desexed. Maybe he marked and did it right after waking? Also was his the urine smell unusually strong? Edited January 3, 2010 by Mim
mzj3n
nope he isn't desexed. I dont think he did it after waking coz i was watching him sleep coz i heard him moving alot but he was still sleeping and then whimpering then i patted then he woke up and got up and as he got up i saw the wet spot. The urine wasn't heavy smell as the heavy smell urine he does outside. I'm starting to think it might because he dreaming and I accidentally disturbed him while he was dreaming about something.. but im keep track of it. He was all night this time. Is he desexed?
