Guest Thomas Blake
Today is 15 years since Ben died. He was owned by my OH, at the time we were starting to go out together. He went quietly from heart failure after a short illness at about 3 years of age. Gone too soon.
ricey
Hey Thomas when I was seven, I lost my tortoise, Gertrude. She didn't come out of hibernation alive, and had maggots crawling out of her eye sockets. She was only 2 years old, which is very young for a tortoise. Like Ben, gone too soon  . 41 years later, and I still remember pulling her body out of the straw in the spring only to smell the decay and see the maggots. As they say, only the good die young. What sort of dog was Ben? What brought about the heart failure? Do you have a dog at the moment?
