Longwhitecloud, I currently have a white cockatoo sitting in my tree like that. They just love the seed pods - come in every year and gorge themselves on them and look like candles on a Christmas tree as they sit on the edges of the branches. If I was clever enough I could take a picture of them but I am definitely not clever.

No shots from today yet but since I'm shooting on the set of a friend's film tonight (she's one of our producers at work so she's getting a bunch of us to help out), I'm sure they'll be one I can use! We have 2x12cm tarantulas on set tonight so I'm hoping to get some shots of them even though I'm terrorfied of spiders!!

Here's my shot from yesterday - since I'm on holidays for 2 weeks, I thought a shot of "death" was rather appropriate. He sits on top of my computer screen.

RJ, your frog shots are awesome as usual, love the one of Boof with Dex's head in his mouth!!

Bec, love love love your shot of Asha on her back, she has the cutest face! Can I ask do you start out with a preset in light room with some of your shots, and just add on a bit more editing in Develop?

JS, you are so brave to go to the cemetary by yourself, I have done a couple of night cemetary shoots but NEVER on my own, Im too chicken

oh by the way I love how that shot came out, it almost looks like the outline of the cross is illuminated!!

FP, your pink flower is divine, so colorful!

Shell, I never thought I d say this sentence, what a cute little grim reaper  really looking forward to seeing your spider shots!

Aninek, I love the background in your shot, it is really interesting!

Ness, love the soft focus around the outside of your shot!

Fiona, are your boys really that green or was it the light, he does look kind of grumpy, love the flipped back ear! Im thinking you used the 50 mm for that shot, his nose is so infocus!

Pointees, that bridge looks massive, and your snags made me hungry!

TN, love your shots for today, it sure does look like a relaxing place, i especially love your second shot!!

Mine for today, nothing special. The first one was on my way to work this morning, it was so foggy butt he shot is not at all interesting!

HEY TN, have you had many outtakes or are you pretty much getting it right in the first couple of shots, you look a long way from the camera in the first one. With the remote is there a specaill setting ont he camera and then you just shoot when you want and can you shoot more than one picture at a time? or is it like the timer and you only get one shot then have to start again?

Depends on the day...

Day 12 was 5 outtakes

Day 13 had 4 outtakes

Day 14 had 6 outtakes

(all of those were just pulling different facials, etc )

Compared to...

Day 15 (the one on the jetty) had about 25!!!!!! Half of them I had lined myself up incorrectly and wasn't even in the shot!

Day 16 (the one with the lake behind me) I took about 10 shots and then the wind came up and I took another 6, which is what the chosen shot was out of.

Day 15 was taken with my 50mm (I didn't bring any other lenses)... I guess I was about 10-15m away from the camera?

The remote is so convenient! You push the button on the remote and it tells the camera to take the shot, so you can stay where you are. Mine allows you to half-press the button, too so you can focus with the remote. It would certainly be very annoying to have to set the 10 second timer and run out to take the shot every time!

Wow, the remote sounds great, here I was thinking you had to go reset the camera every time  i would have given up well and truly. Great that you can do auto focus with the remote, it certainly gives you a lot more flexability than if you were just using the timer. I love your shots, I look forward to seeing what you come up with everyday!! Keep up the excellent work!

Oh geez, I think I wouldn't have done it either, if I had to run out and back every time!!! I'd get nice and fit though!

You should give some SP's a go! The remotes aren't very expensive (about $30).

Spent some time down at St Kilda Beach today.

Great for people watching!

I made the sky deliberatly artificial looking as it matched everything else in the photo

As I looked around at all the dedicated image conscious sunbakers this little girl walked past and I thought how much easier it was to be young and carefree!

tlc - naaa his eyes aren't green at all - I'm playing with colour saturation levels at the moment on Lightroom - I wanted a kind of 80's style heavy colour, darkness to the photo - so I just kept playing with levels till I got this .... I'm enjoying playing around on Lightroom changing little things around .... oh and yes that nifty-50 is getting a workout! i love love LOVE that little lense!
