Kelly_Louise
Very sorry to hear such bad news... I can't begin to fathom how gutted you must feel right now. Our thoughts are with you. I wish I could say something that would ease the pain - but I know nothing will make this any easier... We do share your sorrow.
gemstone
thanks everyone for your support it means a lot I am picking her up at 5 today, the vet says it could be a few days or a few weeks at most. I've been thinking maybe I should make a date say a weeks time but my partner is arguing with me saying we should wait that maybe she will last longer. I never expected this from him and to be honest I dont need it either. I always promised myself I would do the right thing at the right time and I dont want her to suffer. I will ask the vet tonight what he thinks of my idea and hope he backs me up. He says at the moment she is as bright as a button because the drip cleaned her liver and is begging for food whenever anyone passes her cage
Staffyluv
rmc, you will know when... You just will... You will look at her one day and know that she has had enough and you will give her the peace she needs. OH's are funny when it comes to these things - mine can't even go to the vet with me in case 'that news' is forthcoming. Wishing you all the strength you need to get through this... I will make sure I log in lots so I can be here if you need someone...

baifra
How devastating for you rmc. It's just heartbreaking... but as Staffyluv says you will just know when it's time. Dogsfevr
Dont make a time, your vets are well aware of the situation & if you feel the time has come they will be very accommodating. Some will come to your home at this time. I would suggest deciding what you want to happen . Will you bury or cremate? Which company would you use if that is the path you choice?? Arrange in advance that its a waiting game but you have chosen there services(if this is your option). Its a horrible time waiting & having a girl with bone cancer years ago you truly dont now how long but you do now when its time & as hard as it is you now the right decision is being made . Its horrible news but take every day you have & enjoy it
Kelly_Louise
You know Callie best... I say go with what your heart and gut tells you to do. YOU know what the right thing is, and how she deserves to go out. Do what you can be happy with, as it will be a really tough time for you and you don't want to wonder... Best wishes to you all. I hope you enjoy your time with Callie and she comes to her time full of love and happiness and wonderful memories of her life. They're never with us as long as we'd like. Many men find making this final decision impossible so we the stronger sex, have to make the decision without them. He is not trying to be difficult to make things hard on you but in my experience men seem to have a much harder time coming to terms with the need to give a pet it's wings. The waiting is the hardest part so just try to enjoy your last days with her.

Dog_Horse_Girl
Hope Callie and you are coping fine. Please know that we do understand what you're going through and you are certainly not alone. I also reckon men are wusses and we make the "tough" decisions because they're just not able to. Enjoy the time you have left - make happy memories and take lots of pics. Cuddles are fabulous too. I'm so sorry that the news isn't better.
