Bodie
Sorry if this is already posted somewhere down the line, i did try and search but couldn't seem to find. I've picked up a few recipes for bad breath dog biscuits to make, but where on earth do you find some of the ingredients like Activated Charcoal and Brown Rice Flour? Does anyone know or does anyone know of a better solution? (Nothing to do with gums or teeth, he's just a youngen and they're in great shape) :D
persephone
Firstly- find the cause :D retained baby teeth? Food/bone wedged somewhere? injury? Sore throat? Diet not suiting him? Activated charcoal- buy from chemists. brown rice flour - would that be at health food shops?
4 Paws
I've just started using liquid Chlorophyll for one of my dogs that has stinky breath and generally gets a doggy odour much quicker than my other gsd.It apparently is also good for making there poo's smell less If you google it for dogs it has great reviews
smooch
I had the same problem recently with Smooch, I got some Inner Health powder from the chemist.
alpha bet
Add lots of parsley (just wizz it up in your kitchen) to his diet.... very good for bad breath The other thing is you can buy charcol biscuits - this is an easy way to feed the charcol and the dogs do love them. pie
If he's teething and losing teeth his breath will smell, I'm going through this at the moment - blerk!
Bodie
Thanks troops, he's nearly 18mths old - so he should have finished teething and all that. I feed him raw chicken necks, frames and some raw mixtures from the raw food guy, i guess i'll try a few of your ideas and see how that goes. sumosmum
You could try adding some natural yogurt to his meal. Works wonders.
