J...
Bugger - there is a big size difference between the mediums and the smalls then. Something tennis ball sized would be perfect, I find the squeaky tennis balls which you can get in some pet stores a good size but they get really manky and slobbery and I'm not sure they have the teeth friendly glue?? ness
Yep there is a big difference. Its the same difference between the small orbee and the medium orbee. Its almost as though there is a "patent" on tennis ball size squeakies that aren't tennis balls .
RubyStar
Thanks Amps!Micha is very prey drive but doesn't tug. He goes nuts for his cuz toy so if I am using it when we are training, I bounce it on the ground and let him catch it as a reward or if I really want to reward him I throw it and let him chase it. I would much prefer to have him tug but he won't grab anything I'm holding. He's really food driven too so it's easy to get him going with food. Let me know your address through PM and I'll send you one of my special rabbit fur tugs, haven't failed getting a dog to tug yet. Oooh how much would one of these tugs be and are they really that good? I have started agility with Millie, and she absolutely REFUSES to play tug with me. So I have to utilise the squeaky ball which is all she's crazy for, which isn't ideal because playing with her for reward involves her chasing the ball and running into paths of other dogs Well we haven't failed to get a dog to tug on one yet, see how Micha goes...you n ever know, might be our first fail The standard size which is about 60cm is $14.95 and the long ones for dogs to hang off are $20.00. I've just closed the shop for a little holiday but if you want to try one if Micha is successful I can sell you one. Cool! I will wait and see if huski reports back about Micha and if he has been another success story, I'd love to purchase one from you once reopen shop

If I use a ball as a reward I throw it to Darcy to catch which she's just as happy with. I find too many other dogs in class try to get in on the act if there is a squeaky ball thrown. What size are the small i-squeaks in comparison to a tennis ball? I have a few mediums and find them a bit big to handle easily or shove in a pocket. Yes I try to throw it to her to catch, but if she misses, it bounces off her mouth, flies away and off she goes to get it anyway I think I just need to work on this tug thing! I'll use the ball when I need her to drive out, though.

ETA: I've already shaped her to put her front feet onto a book so hopefully I can do the rest like in the video Edited February 18, 2010 by amypie

Vickie
Watching your kids run remind me so much of Caffy's Snazzy - who did a magnificent run last night to win open agility I saw the run  it was brilliant! I keep threatening to send his sister over, so Caffy can train her . Shine & Snazz met last year at the nationals & were so very cute together, like peas in a pod. I have some great photos of them playing. Vicki - How did you teach both girls the weavers? both were taugt with 3 poles & a clicker. Their striding is different but it is more related to their body than the method. Trim will often 2 step in training, but goes faster in a trial so it turns into a single step. We have played around with other methods, but I think we will stick with this one for the next dog/s. and does your daughter run both girls? She generally does one or 2 runs each trial. Trim is easier for her to run as her forward drive is handler dependent, so she will wait for Chloe. Shine is harder b/c she covers the ground more quickly & gets away from her. Mostly she runs Open with them as the Masters are usually too complex. She has also run Gamblers & got a qually with Shine just last week . People are always telling me she handles them better than I do . She is very natural & just runs. She takes chances that I am not always willing to take & they generally pay off. I love watching her run them. Here is her running Trim last year. LOL, the hicup at the weaves was my fault, I told her to overhandle that bit to avoid an off course jump. LOL, lucky Trim has a good weave entry. She started very early Edited February 18, 2010 by Vickie

Vickie
Send Miss Shine over anytime but I'm not sure much training will get done once Snazz sets eyes on her Haha, although she is very sweet & happy to play, I doubt even her brother could distract her from a training session and he may not be too impressed with her method of dismissal.
