huski
http://www.cleanrun.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...Product_ID=1293 Micha would go nuts for these! I would be interested in a mass order too How do you all use them to reward the dog? Do you throw it to them and let them have chase it/chew it so it squeaks? pie
I use it for some things with Kyzer, I make him do something (eg, weave) and when he has done it I throw the ball for him, the reward for him is the chase and grab. He kills it for a bit then brings it back (mostly ) and we repeat. I mainly use it for things where I want him to drive away and not come back to me for food. huski
Thanks Amps! Micha is very prey drive but doesn't tug. He goes nuts for his cuz toy so if I am using it when we are training, I bounce it on the ground and let him catch it as a reward or if I really want to reward him I throw it and let him chase it. I would much prefer to have him tug but he won't grab anything I'm holding. He's really food driven too so it's easy to get him going with food. Ptolomy
Hey I feel a career move coming on - I could be the i-squeak distributer for the southern hemisphere Huski - I think that the small i-squeak may be too small for your dog - I would be more inclined to get a medium and a small for your beagle, not sure what others think ? Rubystar? If we did do a BIG order of I-squeaks there would then be postage to each state. Hmm will investigate more tomorrow.... and if I think its worthwhile I will start an I-Squeak thread Edited February 16, 2010 by Ptolomy
huski
Thanks Ptolomy - yeah I would definitely have to go a bigger size for Mish, Daisy would be right with a small though I'm sure.

Rubystar? I agree... Soaks loves the small and she probably has a similar size mouth to Daisy. She does still play with the medium but if given the choice she would go for the small. The medium is definitely an appropriate size for Misch - he'd probably swallow the small!

Oooh how much would one of these tugs be and are they really that good? I have started agility with Millie, and she absolutely REFUSES to play tug with me. So I have to utilise the squeaky ball which is all she's crazy for, which isn't ideal because playing with her for reward involves her chasing the ball and running into paths of other dogs

I have both medium and small for my Labs, and I feel more comfortable them using the medium as I'm scared in the excitement of catching this bouncing, squeaking most wonderful thing , they'll choke ;) I use the small for training occasionally though as I can hide it in my pocket. I've just closed the shop for a little holiday but if you want to try one if Micha is successful I can sell you one. So I have to utilise the squeaky ball which is all she's crazy for, which isn't ideal because playing with her for reward involves her chasing the ball and running into paths of other dogs Would she be happy with you throwing the reward to her? If I use a ball as a reward I throw it to Darcy to catch which she's just as happy with. I find too many other dogs in class try to get in on the act if there is a squeaky ball thrown. What size are the small i-squeaks in comparison to a tennis ball? I have a few mediums and find them a bit big to handle easily or shove in a pocket. ness
The small ones are a lot smaller than a tennis ball - about the same size as the small cuz if you have seen those Jess.
huski
Here's a very short vid from tonight; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCx_DMdTqzM I'm still trying to walk in a straight line I had my hands behind my back to force myself to stop fiddling with them! And to work on our voice control. Daisy was quite wide through a lot of it but I think a lot of that is my handling too. I need to work on my confidence
