Had to laugh, as i walked into the ring the stewards were commenting on my 'skinny' lab, lol i dont think mason is skinny at all

I was asked on the weekend what breed Ruby is. When I said "a Labrador", the response was "oh, she just hasn't filled out yet, then?"

:p :laugh::)

Lol Mason was called a flatcoat retriever lol

She's looking lovely mirawee. :D

Where is her first show?

Her first show is at the State Equestrian Centre in Brigadoon :) 3pm start for her classes as they have ridden in the morning, dressage at lunch then halter from 3pm. I will also have one of my Anglo fillies competing too.

We passed another CCD trial today, so happy after our fail yesterday - and to top it off we got 2nd place :D

Yay :cheer: Well done :D I am waiting for it to cool down more so I can enter Varda again :cheer:

Car was broken into at Reactive Rover Class today... If anyone hears of a copy of Agility Right from the Start or The Focused Puppy going cheap let me know so I can give my colleges the intel. :)

Not good :) There are some real lowlifes in this world

And a big YAY for Scoota! Hope he is still going well and his appointment today is a success (

When's the show, mirawee? I've never been into horses but would like to see what it's all about sometime.

Sunday 15th May :mad It is only for purebred arabians and arabian derivatives (ie partbreds LOL)

RS Ari is due on the 11th. We'll be on high alert from this weekend.

Woohoo! Have you got time booked off work?

I heard last night that my kelpie puppy is going to a while longer :cheer: The bitch managed to pull damage the internal scar from a previous c-section and so they will be waiting until her next season at the end of the year to breed her.

Where is the horse show Mirawee??

just saw above, would love to come and watch, am busy in morning but could do in the afternoon

You can all come and watch Ameenah make a fool of me :cheer: I am expecting her to take one look at the indoor arena and refuse to trot in there :cheer:

Nova's (the other filly I will have there) had her first show as a yearling with an international judge and they had a scary area in the centre for the ribbons etc that had curtains around it. She took one look and went "not on your life"! Tried for a bit and the judge then suggested I go the otherway around so I was between her and the "curtains of doom" and since I protected her she was fine... the judge then made us trot the original way and all was good :) She still got Champion as well, beating the 3yos! I will never forget it though  They haven't had that centre bit at any other show I have been too either :)

And then took some quick photos of my arab filly (the one I bought in a Flood Fundraising auction :) ) to monitor her transformation to show pony since Mum was home from NZ today so could use the camera for me :) Two more weeks until her first show

Beautiful filly, good luck with her first show :)

We passed another CCD trial today, so happy after our fail yesterday - and to top it off we got 2nd place :)

Yay well done Mason

Scoota - update......

This morning he was the last to be fed and the first to finish (I really wanted to post this in the brags thread :) ). He has had a good couple of days - so I took him for an outing to the trial today where he enjoyed his morning, ate a jackpot and then came home and polished off his lunch in no time. It was almost like I had the old bright and bubbly Scoota today.

Fingers crossed tomorrow for our Murdoch visit.

Great news :cheer: Hope all is going well for you today with him :)

Car was broken into at Reactive Rover Class today... If anyone hears of a copy of Agility Right from the Start or The Focused Puppy going cheap let me know so I can give my colleges the intel.

Oh crap RV that's not good :D Sorry you've lost stuf, how annoying :( Did they break a window? My car had all my camera gear in it parked there the session before!

On another note how good were Louis and Toby! Louis sniffed Toby's bum :cheer: That may not sound like much but Louis' normal form of interaction is a couple of snaps towards another dog when they get within reach - butt sniffing is a big improvement :)

Felt first puppy movements today :p

Oooooo exciting :p

Indy had her ultrasound today and was an absolute star :) She just laid on her back and didn't move at all while they shaved her and did the ultrasound, no sedation required - she's not a normal cat :) Anyway no abnormalities were found, and she didn't think the blood results were high enough to go as far as a biopsy just yet, so it's going to be a case of monitoring her and re-testing blood in a few weeks.....

Horsey people - where is the best place to find out what horse shows/events are on around Perth, as I'd love to go along with my camera to some. And talking of that, my OH has gone away with work for a few day which means I have the car....so does anyone have any dogs/cats/horses/rabbits/birds/ferrets/cows/sheep etc :cheer: that they want photographs of over the next couple of days, as I'm always on the hunt for critters to practice on ;)

Just ask me :cheer:

What type of events? Dressage, showjumping, hacking, cross country, games, campdrafting, team penning, breed shows (and specific breeds) etc, etc, etc. :)

Also look on www.cavalletti.com.au they have an events page listing. Also www.stockyard.net have a forum with a showing section so most WA events are mentioned in there. The Weekend West (Saturday paper) has an Equestrian Notices section in the sport pages and a lot of shows are listed there. Um... Equestrian WA website (www.wa.equestrian.org.au). That should be a start :)

Oh and yay about Indy's ultrasound :)

Diva has her vet appointment booked for tomorrow week to try and figure out why she is still lame. Am wondering if I even want to know now that I have booked it :cheer:

Hey ptolomy I am a murdoch student and I think I saw you leaving this morning. Was Scoota riding in the ffont passenger seat? If so, he looks like a beautiful boy.

Thanks Mirawee, I'll have a look at those sites :) Something with a bit of action, so cross country, show jumping type stuff - what is team penning? it sounds like something to do with stock herding. Are there any rodeos round Perth? Having worked with show horses in the past I'm also a sucker for 'beauty parades'

Hope all goes well for Diva too :cheer:

Team penning is a team of 3 riders attempting to get 3 cattle with the same colour collars out of a mob of aroung 21-30 head and into a small pen up the other side of an arena - all in less than 2 minutes and with no more than 5 head of cattle over the centre line at any one time :cheer: Next one is in Bakers Hill starting 1pm on the 14th May (Diva is my usual cow pony but Folly - my showjumper - is filling in at the moment).

Rodeos are held semi-regularly. Next one is 21st May indoors at Brigadoon.

Brigadoon ODE is on that same weekend... dressage and some showjumping on the Sat and cross country and more showjumping on the Sun.

Also that weekend - Sunday - is the first horse agility training session

Hack Council Classic is also coming up - will find out the exact date for you. That is usually at Gosnells and is one of the bigger hack shows for the year :) You will find it quite different from the UK though, particularly the hunters. ETA: it is the 28/29 May and is down in Serpentine this year. Sat for the hunters and Sun for the show horses

I am having some of my toenail cut out tomorrow, must say i am now getting quite scared, not for the cutting, its the local anaesthetic i am scared for, i am paranoid about having reactions to medications since i had a reaction to some pills before.
