For CD what is the COP?? Ie stand to drop, sit to stand etc. There were 3 dogs only yesterday doing CD and i never got to watch.

Leave your dog in a stand, walk away, about turn, down your dog, return to dog.

that sounds easy to pass now how do i teach my dog to drop without tapping ground between her paws lol

???

Ok mason can do that already so thats cool. I freaked when someone said you have to do dumbell in CD - then some1 else said its optional . I am stressed for Open and the dumbell, i best be ordering one and putting in more effort!!

OK - So I am completely from a showing background and can probably explain all of that to you, but am at a loss when it comes to obedience

Is CD / CDX the obedience titles?

And what is involved in the first obedience trial?

I am such a noob and need it explained in simple terms

Cheers

Roxi n hemi CCD, CD, CDX, UD & UDX are the obedience titles. We are newbies to trialling and are doing CCD, its basically 5 mins of heelwork, with auto sits, some drops and stands, changes of pace etc. Also a stand for exam and a recall. Then if u pass all that you do A 1 min group sit stay and a 2 min drop stay, i dont know enough about the rest to comment except to say as u go up the levels the exercises obviously get harder and more complex like scent discrimination and dumbell retrieves over a jump etc, longer stays, stand stays, out of sight stays..... :)

As a fellow noob here goes, just the basics.

CCD- lowest class, heel pattern on leash, followed by figure 8 heeling around 2 people (on leash), followed by a stand for exam (on leash) followed by a 12+m recall (off leash) then sit stays and down stays (off leash with other dogs)

CD -Novice - like CCD except all off leash and longer durations/distances. Plus another optional (as in you choose which one) exercise.

CDX - Open - Much harder... lost more stuff don't actually know 100% what happens myself so will let the experts fill you in.

UD -Utility Dog and UDX - Utility Dog Excellent are for insane people and/or genius dogs... :) They have to do scentwork, directed jumps, heel patterns with no verbal commands and directed retrieves ect.

Also google Rally-O, it will be officiated next year and definately fun for you and Hemi to try!

Another great day at agility :)

Ruby got another clear round in Novice Jumping, and Millie got her first clear round in Novice Jumping. Both made it to the finals :)

Both girls got their 2nd clear round in Novice Agility, also both making it to the final for that, too!

So proud of my girls! We had a fantastic weekend :D

Thanks to CrazyCresties for taking some photos of our dogs! Hope you enjoyed yourself :)

You did so well with them both :D Sorry I couldn't stick around to see your later rounds. I did enjoy it, what's not to love about getting doggie cuddles, watching agility and snapping away :D I haven't edited the pics yet, hopefully I will over the next couple of days and then I'll send you a link to them :)

And sorry for calling you Ruby :D Damn internet names.....at least you didn't call me Crazy

with an SFE does dog have to stand perfectly still??

Their feet can't move. If they move more than 2 feet then it's a fail.

A quick scan through my pics shows more practice is required, especially with focusing on fast moving dogs :laugh: Some should be salvageable though :)
