If you had her covered from a pup though they would have to cover it then though right?? I am so glad I got Mason insured before I knew he had allergies or else I would have been in big trouble....

New pup will be covered before he comes home.

Apparently some insurers consider anything they paid out on in the previous year an "existing condition" and will no longer cover it after you renew  So if your dog does something on say day 360 of the policy that requires follow up treatment you better hope that you can get it cleared up in those remaining 5 days!

I have too many animals to bother with insurance though as I would be paying more than I would claim :(

Well Petplan is not like that, they even lifted the clause Mason had on his eyes because he had a few problems as a pup and I can now claim for them once my vet gives them a vet history for the year if I had not claimed in the last 12 months.

Sophie's back home. We're leaving the leg one more month then if there's no improvement or she snaps the cruciate before then she'll have the op. She has a lot of arthritis around the joint, the vet showed me on the x-ray, but the vet said it's actually a good thing because it's helping to stabilise her leg. So we'll see in a months time. I think she'll end up with the op but trying to think positive because that long recovery after the op is a major PITA.

No problem, my girls sleep in as long as I tell them to  It's about the only thing I have managed to successfully train!

Good luck with that...usually my dogs manage to wake me up early on a planned sleep in day!!!!
Hope Sophie will be ok!

Bring on tomorrow, could reeeeeeeeaaaally use a sleep in! I wish we had midweek public holidays every week!!

Yip, Mason and more often than not the cat Socks gets us up before we ready - and Socks is such a pest once he decides its time for us to get up and open the back door for him so he can go and play in the garden

Poor Wolf has just had to go to the vet and have his front leg xrayed  He is very sore on it and holding it up- yet he was fine on the weekend :cheer: Just my luck. He is being crated for a week and is on painkillers and anti-inflamatorys to see how he goes. Vet doesn't see a break or fracture.

Some don't wait till morning, Jenna was crying most of the night from about 2am, got up several times to let her out but she is just very restless and wanting to find babies. Keeps grabbing more toys and tucking them underneath her and wants me to be part of the process of nursing them. :) Can't remember her being this bad on previous false pregnancies, I'm so, so over it. Think she is trying to hatch them, the way she tucks them underneath her and then curls around them, the favoured ones are the talking and noisy ones.

So looking forward to a day off work tomorrow but doubt it will involve a sleepin as brain thinks 5.15am is wake up time. Even if I try to stay in bed Gizmo will start barking around 6 to go out.

Poor Jenna! I had no idea it could get like that.

Well my sleep in plans are no more. But tis ok! I am off for some retrieving training in the morning and as much as I love my sleep ins, I tend to give them up if there's the chance for some good training :) Looking forward to it!

Just received this from a friend, can anyone help or knows anyone?

Guys I am helping out at the Dog's Refuge home and there was a 10 year old Rotti boy called King rescued by one of the trainers there from the Wanaroo Pound. He is in generally good health, but the Refuge wouldn't take him on cos of his age etc. Mel, who is fostering him, cannot afford to help with any ongoing health costs he may have and I am trying to help her find a retirement home for him. I've listed him on DOL for her, and she says he is a really big sook.

I'm just sending a message to you guys, my doggie mates knowing you have connections in the doggie world. Rottie Rescue know of him, and are also trying to find him a forever home. Just wondering if any of you guys might know of someone willing to take him on till the end of his days? Cheers
