Well Lincoln will be 12 weeks on Febuary 3 so hopefully I will be eligable, the shows I am referring to is on the 7th of Febuary and it is an open show. Thier is also a show in Albany the next weekend. How far ia Albany from Bunbury? (Or Dunsbrough if you know... am evily plotting to spend a whole week down south staying with cousins and aunties  )
Also do many people go down to the Geraldton/Albany and Bunbury shows in Febuary?

I could be interested in the Bunbury show!? Where do I find more info?

Are well behaved non-showing dogs allowed to attend?

As long as your dog is kept controlled, yes. But bear in mind, it will prevent you from fully interacting with other dogs, as it isnt like taking your dog to a park and socialising, some dogs take lots of preperation, and some will not let your dog interact with theirs.

The next Bunbury show isnt for a while, October is the next conformation show, but there are obedience/agility trials between

Schedules appear in the Dogswest bi monthly magazine, some are on the Dogswest website, but if you ring Dogswest they can tell you when shows are on and where.

There is no reason that well behaved dogs that are not entered cannot go to a show. While I am a member of Dogswest, I have often taken dogs that are not entered. In fact I even used to take my associate registered Kelpie to the Royal Show with me and stick her on the bench with my show dogs - the farmers used to LOVE her

The Bunbury/Geraldton/Albany shows and trials are smallish compared to Perth but are often great fun and a lot more relaxing then the Perth Shows.

Yep...remember those days well. We had separate classes for registered dogs, registered bitches, associate dogs and associate bitches...and the classes were big! Oh well...showing my age me thinks :provoke:

I PMed, maybe I should follow up. :rasberry:

Rally O sounds complex.. I can't believe a trial goes for like 2 hours

Obedience Trials can go for over 4 hours depending on the entries and I remember the days when they used to go all day!!!

This is when they used to get entries that numbered as many as 130 - 140.

Yesterday we went to better pets and gardens, they have a DIY hydrobath, which is quite handy $10 for 10 mins, gives shampoo, condition, flea and tick wash and blowdry, and at the end a disenfectant wash for the bath ;) If I hadnt of been waiting and seen the previous people do a disenfectant wash, I would of done this first. You can add more $$ for more minutes.. It really is great to use... Only complaint is there was no towels, so take your own, cause trying to blowdry a sopping wet dog takes forever!

Oooh which one?

I bathed the girls yesterday after our beach trip and I do it in the clam shell pool out the backyard. Ruby is pretty easy, she stands there (biggest pain is her trying to eat the water out of the hose!) but Millie stands there scared stiff trying to slyly escape! So I have to hold her the whole time. Millie then rolled in the dirt once done!! :rasberry: So much easier when I used to get them hydrobathed, but I was told the one at the vet doesn't shampoo! So I didn't see the point. My house stunk like wet dog for several hours after, as I had to lock one in the sleepout to dry while the other was outside otherwise they both tear around the yard like lunatics to dry off, getting dirty again! :provoke:

Rubystar, the one in Nicholson Rd Canning Vale has one, just go up Garden St turn left at roundabout on Nicholson and it is on the right hand side a short way up. Take your Canine membership as you may be able to get a discount on any goods you buy (not sure if you have to have a prefix for this). Oh and say hi to Steve (mini pins, show and agility).

ValleyWA - don't think we are coming this week, even though I really want to. Been invited out so I'm going to make the most of seeing this guy before he flys off back up north.

Pretty please bring the little man next week? Really want to meet him :rasberry:

I'm a regular there :rasberry: I'm part of their customer care program with my K9 membership so I save 10% on everything :provoke: ;) I just never noticed the hydrobath before!

Hi All, Im a WA-er as well and have been lurking in here keeping an eye on things. We have a 1 year old GSP called Leila aka "the monster". We've been going down to vic park obedience and have just been bumped up from the beginners - yay! She has improved but is still crazy. Last week she was described as "just very immature"!

The offer is only for the small bags (3kg or 4kg)

OH just popped in to City Farmers to check about this and they did say it was only for the small bags.

CareyJ i had a GSP in my class once a while ago when i was training my eldest boy... he was soooo exciteable but so amazingly intelligent and once the owner managed to maintain focus, he was best in our class. They really do have an amazing drive and it's a great tool to use for obedience.

Yeah, she has heaps of potential and when you have her attention, you really have it....when you lose it, it is all over! It doesnt help that we are still learning too.

Valley, I meant to have a chat but Leila had lost it! Your baby is so precious.
