okay completely different subject. anyone know a rescue who would take a 1 yr old kelpie cross? acquaintance is moving in 2 days and cant take him so needs to find somewhere to take him. I am trying to find out more info, if it comes down to it i might be able to convince mum to let me have him here for a few days. RSPCA wont take him..

Sorry Rach I dont know of anyone at the moment looking for a dog... why will the RSPCA not take him?

Probably because they are full with dogs of similar breeding.

Have you tried contacting Shenton Park Dogs Home Rach? They are no kill.

Hi all,

Sorry for the change in topic - but I posted this over in the puppy section, before realizing there was a WA thread.

Can anybody please recommend a good puppy pre-school for me south of the river? I would really like to hear of your experiences with these places, if you would recommend them, the why's and why not's, and if there were things that you found lacking etc...

I would also like to ask you if you have owned chihuahuas and trained them what has been your experience here as well... Getting conflicting information from the internet, some rating chis in their top five hardest list to potty train etc, whilst others dont even mention them at all (dont know if thats a good thing or bad one actually)

I thank you in advance for helping me out here.

Moosepup and Honeychild both have Chi's and are in Perth. Not sure if they come in here though?

Another good place for info is the Chi thread, not sure if you've been in there yet, it's here:

http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=105948

As for Puppy pre school I used one for my first dog and it was such a disaster that I opted not to do it with my second dog, she just met with other dogs and puppies instead that I knew.

If you are going to use one my advice would be make sure it is not an off lead free for all especially having such a small puppy, the bigger ones can really flatten and frighten the littler ones without realising it and it can start your puppy off on a bad foot. It's all personal choice though of course and does depend on the dog. JMO.

Also did anyone else hear they might not be having obidience at the Western Classic! :)

YES :):confused::rofl::)

If it's cause they are short on people (and i can't belive I am saying this) even though I have never been involved in organizing a trial and don't know too much about obidience I am happy to help. I would like to think in a few years I can have Lincoln in the Western Classic for showing, obidience and agility.

No but I did hear they might not be having Obedience :) :)

Yes apparently it is because there is no one to organise it? It would be a real shame to lose it, and I'm not even an obedience person (yet  ), but the Western Classic is one of those great shows where people can go down and see showing, obedience, and agility all in the one weekend.

I will help if any way I can to ensure the obedience is at the WC. I think it's just horrible that it's not getting the support it deserves. Don't get me wrong, I love agility too, but sick of obedience being second best in most people's eyes  Example being last weekend at the fundraiser trials. Ribbons were donated for the agility (and lots of them!) but none for obedience! :)

I would try the Vet in Midvale George Huber ( Swan Valley Vets) they should know !

I have friends that have obedience titled Chis so it can be done
