Golden Rules
And to think was worried about a shaved patch on his leg a couple of weeks ago, the vet says he will come back pretty much bald. Yep, but who cares hey?! :D
Mas1981
Thanks everyone I probably won't be finding out till late this evening as I was told his surgery wil take 4-6 hours so I should hear by 10.00pm Wow that is a long surgery! Had no idea it would take so long. Pls post back later how he went and I will check back first thing in the morning, will you be seeing him again tonight? Probably not. He will be pretty groggy from the GA and its a really long way to drive. I will go visit in the morning though if I can. Yeah it is really far and he wont be fully conscious for the rest of the evening and I am sure he will be sedated after the op too to stop him moving around too much. I feel so sorry for him, what an awful thing to happen to such a young boy. I am really scared of bowel obstructions, at least I know what the signs are now! pie
Isn't there a 24 hour vet NOR? Balcatta or something? Genuine question - Murdoch is a fair way to drive from out your way. Poor little shaved muppet! :D
ozjen
And to think was worried about a shaved patch on his leg a couple of weeks ago, the vet says he will come back pretty much bald. Might have to buy him a winter coat till the hair grows back and look at doing another activity other than showing while his hair grows back. Maybe he wants to be a tracking dog! Still plenty of time for showing once he has his coat back and it gives you plenty of time to practice with him.

Yep, but who cares hey?! :D I will when is being a terror and I realise how much in show entry fees I have wasted. (Fingers crossed) Amypie there are sort of emergency vets out my way but they are normally on call and don't answer the phone or try fobb you off. Murdoch is also the only one I know of that is manned 24/7.
Golden Rules
Yes, Balcatta is the other 24 hour vet NOR and there is also one at Beeliar for those really SOR. Murdoch is kinda in the middle.

I have had a dog die there, and they were just brilliant. I was out the back where all the sick animals were and I can't speak highly enough of them. Dogsfevr
And to think was worried about a shaved patch on his leg a couple of weeks ago, the vet says he will come back pretty much bald. He shouldnt do but having persoanl experience with Murdoch many moons ago i can imagine. Not a fan of Murdoch at all but that is my issue & i wont go into detail. There are plenty of options out there for offer after hrs other than Murdoch Personally i wouldnt take a dead dog to Murdoch after a few experiences & using there after hrs with clients who insisted they go there .Luckily our vet does after hr emergencies. Another choice is PVE in Ossie Park 24 hrs weekend mon/fri 6pm/8am Specialist centre during the day ie skin/heart/cancer etc etc Hoping Lincoln a quick recovery
mirawee
I will keep that in mind about Balcatta GR but hopefully it will never be relevant. Hopefully you won't need it again, however you might find that Murdoch is easier to get to anyway LOL
