Guest RosieFT
ah ok RS - it is cheap and worked for us. We made Rosie's little enclosure from the cheapest wooden stakes at bunnings and a some mesh. She fails as a terrier though as easy enough for her to push under if she thought about it. MG - my husband asked if you sure it isn't crab grass - grows well in winter but then dies off in summer. Is tinged purple at the joins ..... In summer we have to mow at least every 2 weeks.. in winter, not at all, except the onion weed
OSoSwift
My Kyk just needs a little tidy every now end again over winter. Spring summer it is weekly!
Mason_Gibbs
My Kyk just needs a little tidy every now end again over winter. Spring summer it is weekly! I laid it in summer last year and it haven't taken properly so maybe I will see its true growing in summer, but now in winter for the first time it looks really good, still mowing every 10 days lol
RubyStar
I have Kikuyu too and in summer it dies (because it really doesn't get watered!), in autumn and spring it grows like crazy and needs to be mowed every week! In winter it's quite green, the growth slows down, but still needs a mow maybe once a fortnight or so. The annoying part about this grass is the way it grows upwards so easily and makes the yard look so messy, but outwards in my crappy soil, not so much. I still have gaps that it won't close!! Laid this one (as shredded) because it was meant to grow really well, but never again.
SparkyTansy
Sorry RS mine are currently in use as barriers also. They really don't cost a lot though. If you purchased some and wanted to get rid of them afterwards, I'd buy them off you.
RubyStar
I didn't realise they were only around $25, so on my next Bunnings trip I will pick some up. Sounds like something good to have sitting around anyway so I will probably keep them, sorry ST!
SparkyTansy
Not a problem - I don't mind, it was only if you didn't want to have them around after you'd finished with them, but they are VERY handy!

OSoSwift
The secret to good kyk in summer is to water every second day third at the most and fertilise with a low phosphorous fertiliser every 4 to 6 weeks

Guest RosieFT
Glad Rommi going so well :) Rosie's appointment is on thurs - can't believe it has almost been six weeks!! She has been accepting everything really well, but on yesterdays walk i could tell she had hte wind up her. I warned my husband that she was full of beans when he took her this morning. Well she got super excited to see our neighbour - who loves her and spoils her - and she slipped her collar and did mad zoomies around the end of our road (it is a culdesac) and wouldn't let andrew catch her. he said she had such a gleam in her eye - i bet she did first run in almost 6 weeks. ugh. GREAT timing. He said she was not twisting or turning much so hopefully not much damage. She also didn't do it for long as she is so unfit LOL, just ran up to our back gate and stopped. No limping yet, so hopefully no damage. Dogs!
ness
Good news about Rosie, RosieFT. Kenz has another physio appointment Monday and after what I thought was a "good" week she has just woken up from an afternoon nap and is back carrying her surgery leg . She is due back to the specialist in a few weeks, not sure exactly when he just said he will see her again in a few weeks when she has rebuilt some muscle.
