I rang today and they said $460 for a 15kg girl BUT it did include pain relief, fluids....and a collar I thought this was expensive, but haven't had one done for a couple of years so may be well off the mark. One of our puppy buyers used Ranford last month & for a 7 kg dog where charged price plus a very over sized collar . We did havea bitch spayed last month & her bill was near $500 (8kg) but she had complications(first stage pyo) & an over night stay . Happy to pay for the extras - fluids pain relief etc and I did say I didn't need/want a collar - I hate them and also have never used them. Hey Ptolomy, I had my two girls done at Applecross in February, around $260 each from memory. I know it wasn't too expensive. That was with breeders discount. RallyValley Posted June 13, 2012 Share Posted June 13, 2012 I'm having a bit of trouble keeping up nowadays guys :laugh: Some sad news in the WA thread but I have to say Rosie FT I'm sorry about Rosie (that sticks out in my mind) but I have to say my 'hybrid' dogs have had more issues health wise the Zora, by 1 year Toby had allergies, Lilly my old dog (RIP) had started having hip problems and Toby is also mentally not sound as well as physical issues. Ptolomy loving the adorable puppies! Can't believe how quickly they have grown up. My little girl is growing up too... she is now over 13 months and has received good hip scores. She's now old enough to go into big girl class at Agility next term and I am having so much fun training her in obedience (plus as a bonus she loves metal in her mouth - loves holding drink cans :laugh: ). We have also been doing field work with ST, my dog it's full on! I haven't had a bitch desexed since the 90's (1997 ) so I imagine it is very different today, don't have to think about that for a bit yet with Zora, just have to out up with seasons. Thanks RV - Rosie actually is looking super sound at the moment, the vet couldn't actually pick her lameness up whilst she was on the move. I did show him my video i took of her after mother's day - where she was sore for a week. We have sectioned off a small part of the veranda and garden attached to teh dog door for when we are not home. But I think I will have to rethink that strategy as she jumped off our retaining wall today for no reason whilst i was sweeping up leaves. hmmmmMMM . She is starting to get that wild look in her eyes now too. She has not had any toys games or off leash running for a week. I am going to drag out the clicker amypie gave me.. just ahve to look up some things to teach her with it, never used it before! Try and wear her out mentally. Mason_Gibbs Posted June 14, 2012 Share Posted June 14, 2012 Poor Rosie our srgeon also said avoid throwing balls for Gibbs continuously as it won't be good for him to come to an abrupt stop. Won't be doing it for a few months but I have let him retrieve a dummy for retrieving that's been about 2 meters away and it's not far enough for him to get up to any real speed. It isn't the abrubt stop with Rosie, it is the tight turn as she goes past it and angles back LOL But not just balls, anything really. Whenever she hears the washing maching click at the finish she is there tail wagging as she knows that I throw something (usually just a toy, not a ball) for her whilst i hang it up. She keeps looking around the place for toys to bring me and i have taken them all away . I wish I could explain it to her! ahh well. 5 weeks Ness, that is great!
