ness
You would be surprised. They weight bear fairly quickly. I have seen videos of small dogs having both done at the same time. They still have to be carried out anyway and they aren't really allowed to walk around. Even more so when they have had bone cut.

Iv heard of big dogs having an ulna ostectomy done on both front legs and they weight bear after about 4 days post op, it's a huge ask though and I don't know if I could have done it with Gibbs if he had needed it. pie
Well hopefully Millie doesn't notice the delicious blankets though they escaped her attention yesterday (I think) It's never a good time for rain!

She lulled me into a false sense of security. I had towels on the line numerous times while I wasn't home so thought she was past all that... then one day, I came home to a nice hole in the middle of one of my good towels I no longer have a matching set Edited June 7, 2012 by RubyStar
pie
Bahahah!! I don't mind if they get holes they are just dog blankets for the crate/car anyway  But then I'll have to rewash them!

CrazyCresties
Have a fun trip AP and Mirawee :D All the best to those with limping dogs and glad you are getting somewhere with a diagnosis RosieFT :) Another one to add to the poorly list - went to the vet with Daisy due to suspected anal gland issues and have come away with a grade 3 heart murmur diagnosis She had her anal glands emptied a couple of weeks ago, but in the last week she has really been itching her bum and scooting again. So I took her back tonight for a follow up, but the glands are empty and worms and fleas ruled out so possible an allergy. They had some minced chicken recently so it may be that, but the rest of her skin is fine but she has a really irritated bum. So pred was suggested to get the itching under control quickly and I casually asked if there were any problems with pred if she had any heart issues. Ever since the choc poisoning incident we have noticed she gets out of breath quicker, and we have sometimes wondered if there was any long term damage to her heart. So turns out that yes she has a murmur - how bad do I feel for not getting it checked sooner Next step ultrasound at PEV to see how far along it is.......poor Daisy. Off to google about heart murmurs and scare myself!
Mason_Gibbs
Oh no CC, sorry to hear about Daisy there is loads of medications that can help tho I take stuff for my murmur :) the only downside is I ant come off them and I can't take them if preg so even if I wanted bubs ( which I don't yet) I probably couldn't have them anyway
