RubyStar
I'm not sure but I think I'd be stuffed if I had to fly Millie again. No blankets or beds in with that one, she'd have it eaten (literally!) by the end of the flight! MG, when are you getting him tested?
Dogsfevr
Does anyone know, with regards to flying your dog with AAE, is it okay to just have polar fleece blankets in the bottom of the crate? I don't want to buy a snooza mat or similar because I'm 95% sure Trixie will kill it lol (she gets annoyed when she can't dig a nest :p ) You can put what you want. Mine have there snooza & blanket but they don't eat beds. I always have something non slip in the crate see when going up/down the belt when being loaded they can grip
pie
Thanks showdog, good idea about the non slip. I usually have two polar fleece blankets and she digs in them , will maybe stiuck a bath mat or something underneath?

I dont know im a bit stuffed as its really very far to drive to Murdoch 2x a day 1 day a week for 16 weeks. When he is finished with Rivergum for his leg we will look at testing. He has so many probs tho where do i draw the line and stop?? He has stomach issues which may or may not be food related, bee allergies, potential atopic dermatitis and his elbow dysplasia... Ptolomy
Babies are 5 1/2 weeks and are a rough bunch - I have the wounds to prove it Tonight I increased their inside play/sleeping area - so it is now huge and have given them their first bed to sleep in - so taking bets on how long it lasts. They tried scrambled eggs and cooked chicken for the first time today and both were big hits Its going to be the Nanna litter since my mum spent so much time in the whelping box in the first three weeks and she is the one I have to thank for all the photos, so any name suggestions would be appreciated. The pup heading to Adelaide will be Ptolomy Nanna Nose Best Looking forward to having Rubystar visiting on the weekend - have warned her to wear her chest protector and headgear

No the bee and wasp testing is very specialised, Mandy is one of the few dermatologists in the country that does it. The stomach issues are the worst atm, after eating horse for 6 weeks it isnt better he may need the gastroentarologist ( sp??) he is a bit itchy but nothing on masons scale. We will take it one step at a time i guess its all we can do...
Ptolomy
My heart goes out to you MG. At least Gibbs isn't as bad as Mason allergy wise. Any thoughts about seeing Claire Middle???

Yes I will consider it if this doesn't work but after doing the horse only Dr M also wants us to try psyllium and slippery elm to both dogs diets. Mason_Gibbs
Ptolomy those pups just sound Devine :) real little rascals ;) Love my 2 boys but no more labs for me I think, I know 2 more people with 2 dogs each and both the dogs in each family have allergies. So at least I'm not the unluckiest person.... But I guess their dogs don't have ED on top of it so maybe I am lol
Ptolomy
MG I think no matter what breed we choose you and I would run into problems. Think these things are sent to certain people for a reason I am yet to discover. I am sure the normal Jo blow would either put the dog to sleep or ignore the symptoms. Yes that's what a nurse at our vet clinic says, her one dog sees Mandy too and has other issues as well. I'm really lucky tho that hs elbow has healed so well

Tomorrow is week 11 of 19 weeks so we are past the halfway mark, hip-hip-hooray! I am lucky I can work from home on Fridays and Murdoch is only 20 minutes away. Saves me dropping her off before work, making me late, then picking her up at the end of the day. This way she is only there for a couple of hours. It does eat into my day though but is a small price to pay! (well, the time/inconvenience factor I mean, not the $$ price tag ) Sorry to hear Gibbs has other allergy issues, too

SparkyTansy
i used to ask myself the same when I got number one setter with food and atopic allergies and number two with hip dysplasia. i am so lucky that dog number 3 is healthy as a dog can be and number 4 is following the same path, but the reason I got number 3 Weimaraner was because I couldn't face getting another setter with problems.. My mum used to tell me that I was meant to get spartan, because if someone else had him, he wouldn't have lived a happy life. His allergies were so bad if someone had him that couldn't be bothered, they would have probably had him PTS or let him endure the hell alone. CrazyCresties
Shall I wear steel toe-capped shoes and iron gloves as well? Make sure you take plenty of pics :D My pooches are doing fine, but little Indy has been back to the vets a few times recently, asthma cough and chest infection, so upping her meds to try and bring it back under control. She's a little quiet but not too bad in herself - still feeling well enough to swipe Daisy's butt every time she gets close enough  Was hoping to make it to the agility tomorrow, but this afternoon I have been lucky enough to come down with a sore throat/cold and monthly cramps all at the same time! I think I see a day in bed tomorrow instead I might make it to K9 on monday...... Edited June 1, 2012 by CrazyCresties
RubyStar
I don't really have a camera, except for my iphone. But if Ptolomy lets me, I'll be sure to snap a few on the iphone as all it has on there are a gazillion Lab photos, so it needs a bit more variety Hope you feel better soon, CC. And little Indy as well, poor thing!
