But just so I'm not a total downer link at my pretty girl sucking on her teddy for comfort. This toy came over in the crate with her at 8 weeks. Mason_Gibbs
Vet thinks Toby has arthritis... will wait on Deb's opinion on that... and gave him anti-inflammatory tablets and we are doing a course of cartropen. I've passed the smooches and hugs on. Love the names Mirawee! Not too envious of you Mirawee early morning toilet trips, cleaning wee and poo. Looking forward to meeting her though. All the best for Ruby RS! I hope Millie gets recognised as well! Poor Toby did his limping just start again suddenly? Gibbs will be having Zydax shots after his surgery I think starting 3 weeks after his surgery for 4 weeks he has to go in for one I think it's similar to cartrophen? Petplan reviewed my last claim for Gibbs' leg and he is covered so they will be paying the claims for his leg thank dog!! RallyValley
MG Yes it came on suddenly after his evening run. Thanks for the compliments about Zora, I'm glad she's got looks because she has lost a little bit of her brains since her season! Apparently it's fairly normal and I'm hoping they will come back after her diestrus period ends. But in all fairness labs are the cheapest to feed they run on a sniff of a food bin lol.....:) Edited March 12, 2012 by Mason_Gibbs
Guest RosieFT
RV- that is young. Rosie is 4 on the 17th of march and she still is not 100% with her soundness. But she has not been 'obviously' sore for awhile - touch wood. But i see the unevenness come and go. I have started a bit of weaving again so will see how she goes with that - i believe the weaving exacerbated the problem originally as this is the equipment she started to pretend was not there... we have built up her tricep with the hill work and so am introducing the weaving in the hope the leg is stronger. ugh, who knows what is going on really though. Your girl is lovely, she looks so cute with her bear. :-) MG - great re the insurance! We have none... theoretically though.. if i had been paying $30 a month for the past 4yrs.... hmm nope.. think any vet bill will be way higher than that total . Washa - good luck! he looks like he is going to be big - look at those feet! hee
washa
Hi Guys Fletcher is just over 9 weeks old. I have wanted something from his sire for some time now, he has a great personality. This was the "phantom" litter. The vet told the breeder that the bitch wasn't pregnant at 4 weeks along, and then at 6 weeks along told her no, definitely not pregnant! At 8 weeks the breeder was very concerned so took her to a different vet who told her that there were at least 6 puppies in there! So, after lots of disappointment with her not being pregnant, it was a huge surprise - 1 week before they were born! Food wise, I think it depends on the dog. My older boy has a great metabolism and eats 5 cups of biscuits a day plus some chicken mince - he is about 40kg, so not huge. However, I know plenty of other Ridgie people whose dogs only have 2-3 cups a day. I dont think Fletcher will be huge. But he does have great bone! I am very happy to be going back to the older style of ridgie that has substance, rather than some of the fine ones that are in the ring nowadays. Anyway, I have plenty planned for him, but we will have to see what he likes :) Edited March 13, 2012 by washa
RubyStar
Oh noes, more puppies!!!! What are you trying to do to me  Congrats on your new addition, washa! He looks handsome! Great news about your insurance, MG! I submitted my claim on the 13th Feb, only today received a letter saying they received it on the 16th Feb, and that they will assess it and let me know the outcome of my claim Almost a month later and that is all I get?! I get Ruby's cheque 2 weeks to the day that I popped it in the mailbox, from a different insurer I hope that is sign of good things to come from them for Ruby's testing as it was my first ever claim with them and they were that speedy, while this is Millie's second claim so they have all her history, plus I provided extra, and they are taking their sweet time. Oh, and 2 weeks down now of Uni and I'm into the full swing of it - busy busy (and busier) and now wondering how I'm going to cope with 7 years of this ahead of me! Typical that work usually isn't busy, but the minute I take this study on, work becomes flat out and gives me unrealistic time frames to deliver a project. SIGH!! Mason_Gibbs
RS I have been waiting since jan for a cheque for Mason I'm still waiting.... Sigh Washa I also prefer the ridgys with good substance :) 5 cups of food a day !!!! Eeeuuuk that's heaps! Mine would have eaten around 400g of food a day each so it is quite a bit but in honesty my 2 should have been thinner.

washa
Yep, 5 cups a day of Premium food plus chicken mince! And that maintains a really good weight. But I think he's an exception as I dont know any others that eat that amount. Hopefully the puppy will not eat anywhere near that amount when he grows up :D Congrats emery!
