mirawee
Pretty sure that particular year that BOB winners got sweet bugger all :p It is always disappointing when you get nothing at the biggest show of the year yet you can go to a smaller clubs shows and get brilliant prizes! RallyValley
Yes the Committee has done an awesome job (except the letter thing). No training for me tonight, figure I am driving down to the k9 grounds enough times this week but I will be back to agility tomorrow

mirawee
I know they posted the sponsors but can't remember exactly what each was. I also don't think they posted what was sponsored just who :) They were struggling to get the several hundred prizes required though... it is a lot needed when you consider all the classes in each height group placed 1st to 3rd! RubyStar
Wow that's an impressive haul!! Reminds me a bit of those big American award shows where the celebs who present walk away with a massive haul, so massive it is quite ridiculous  Does all that really need to go to 2 winners? Think I'd rather see it shared around between the class in show winners and such! Well done though to those who organised the prizes, they certainly did a good job!! :) I hope performance get better than the mugs this year

mirawee
RS, Class in Group and Class in Show all get prizes too - it just hasn't been posted what it is :) Personally I don't have a problem with the best dog getting the best prize. This is our biggest show of the year after all :) I do hope it is a different dog/owner each show though ;)

pie
Well I know I'm not going to win anything this year but I still hope the performance people get awesome prizes  just because it is icing on the cake
RubyStar
Ditto amypie! I'd like to see those top handlers in performance get awesome stuff, too! Even when I won't be one of them :)
Mason_Gibbs
Of course I wasn't being selfish guys I was just saying I highly doubt I would win anything, wasn't saying I don't care what the prizes are because I won't get anything. Seems to me showing always gets all the good stuff and I don't see why, besides it being more popular as I think performance people work so so hard with their dogs. RallyValley
Just as a figure there are over 1000 dogs entered in the show, each paid an entry fee around $15. A show lady organized all these sponsors to donate prizes - she also organized prizes for the sports. Dogs West did not pay for these and Dogs West did not organize this. You know show people never complain about dog sport people and I really wish that worked both ways... Yes sports people work hard to train their dog but being the best dog out of 1000+ dogs is VERY hard to achieve... Just saying ;) Edited February 28, 2012 by RallyValley

mirawee
Actually show people do complain about performance people at times ;) MG, noone from the performance side if things made any effort to get sponsorship as far as I am aware. Why wouldn't a show person look for sponsorship for the show side of things too? How about next year a performance person volunteers to get the several hundred prizes the performance dogs require so that they get "decent" prizes ;)
RallyValley
Why wouldn't they get the better Arena when they have far more entries and raise way more money?!? It is a dog showing association that added sports later. As for prizes that's because a show person organized awesome sponsors as a volunteer - it's nothing given to them, just the work of one lady. Last year there were no prizes! I'm sure if the sports people wanted to they could organize awesome prizes too, I seen to remember last years obedience challenge had a pretty good haul.
