Towels, beds and blankets are on the top of her menu Kyzer discriminates - in fact it's the only thing I've know him to chew/eat! Picked up all the polar fleece tug toys and voila - no more 'spinal injury' :rolleyes: He's fine with polar fleece blankets though! Trixie on the other hand - loves to munch on beds and doonas also - and more than once I have emerged from the shower to find she has removed the pillow cases from the pillows, ripped the pillow protectors up, but the pillow is perfectly untouched :confused: Ma Mooo has been out of surgery for about 45 minutes now and is already up and walking around :thumbsup: :thumbsup: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

mirawee Posted February 9, 2012 Share Posted February 9, 2012 Brilliant news RS :) After my last couple of experiences with anaesthetics I am a lot more wary of them than I used to be. Aria - the Lappy we bred who lives in Qld took 2 days to be able to walk after having anaesthetic recently and another few days before she was back to normal When Boots was desexed they said they gave him a very light dose only as he was reacting to it very fast (glad my vets are on the ball and titrate the dose!)... My sister's family is travelling around WA and are still below Perth, they have taken their little dog with them who has started scratching like mad and is getting a rather red rash and losing coat from doing so. She said another family's dog was doing the same thing. She has noticed small white things in his coat and not sure if they are some sort of mite or a type of lice. RubyStar Posted February 9, 2012 Share Posted February 9, 2012 Millie is home and is doing ok. She was happy to have her dinner, but I only gave her a little bit. She needs to eat soft food while her gum heals so I bought her a big roll of Tucker Time. Think the girls approve! She's now trying to sleep but I think is in a bit of pain as she can't seem to fall asleep. They extracted 2 teeth from her and a bit of the bone in her jaw so that they could close the big gaping hole. She's had it all scraped out and removed with a 4mm margin, so hopefully this will be the last of it Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

RubyStar Posted February 9, 2012 Share Posted February 9, 2012 Millie is settled, she isn't even whimpering. But she just doesn't seem to be falling asleep, when it appears she is trying. I hope the pain killer injection lasts her until morning so she doesn't have too rough a night. She has 5 days worth of painkillers to get her through that I need to start in the morning. I am glad I don't have to go into the office tomorrow! I can sleep in a little and keep an eye on her during the day :) I wasn't too stressed about it, ness. I know there is always a risk with surgery, but there was no point me stressing. This particular cancer is localised and doesn't spread to other parts of the body, but it can become invasive if not removed. Just hope it hasn't gotten into the bone as that means it could come back. I'll keep checking her mouth like I have been doing anyway to try and catch any regrowth :) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

emery Posted February 9, 2012 Share Posted February 9, 2012 white things in the coat could it be dander?? i would reccomend treating the dog with frontline etc as fleas are bad at the moment in perth imo. also could it be a hotspot? cos that does cause hair to fall out. poor dog hope your family figures it out tobster.
