I made my first pet insurance claim 2 weeks ago, the vet signed the forms and wrote what I saw them for, I attached the bills and the test results and I thought everything was going to be honky dorey rofl1.gif How wrong was I. frown.gif

I received 2 letters today - because I put in 2 claims - saying - please provide a full history including vet notes of every vet she has ever seen, even if it is unrelated to this claim eek1.gif

Well thanking my lucky stars she is one of the healthy ones so hasn't been to many vets - well so I thought - and then I remembered hip x-rays at Applecross, heart ultrasound at Champion Lakes, Murdoch, usual vet is Ranford, but it used to be Vet West - ARGH so I have to ring them never wanted to deal with them again. Interestingly the clinic that was the most unhelpful or unaccommodating was Applecross, wont deal with it over the phone, need a letter sent to them from the insurance company, no the one I received isn't sufficient - OMG need a Panadol and a lay down now.

Argh why is it so painful - was bad enough getting Trixie's history off two vets - let alone that many Ptolomy! Made me realise if I claime for Kyzer I am going to have to contact Applecross, Kenwick, Vetwest, Rivergum, and Ranford

Hope your claim goes through easily and quickly- I have to do one for Trixie shortly, my dogs haven't required vets for a while and I've got to say that I have been amazed at how quickly vet bills add up! Even just for a small sore on a toe!!

Yes I am - and tonight when I rang them - after just having got off the phone from Applecross the receptionist was brilliant, no brick walls put up, no delays and with the minimum of fuss. Every dealing I have had with this practice has been impressive from all members of it.

Ptolomy, I rang Applecross for Ruby's history the other day for an unrelated insurance claim (for her one ever visit there) and they said they will not provide history to anyone but insurance companies, so to get them to contact me :( They did however send me out a signed copy of her vaccination.

VetWest surprisingly have been the most helpful to me through my "ordeal".

I am not looking forward to submitting my first claim with Ruby's new insurer :(

I need to contact Murdoch too for Ruby's emergency visit.. those count, right?! :)

I never claimed for Ruby's Murdoch emergency last year when she got stung because it wasn't worth the effort. Wish I had now as I have to contact them anyway!

I called Vetwest to see if they would order a Triennial vac in for me - they said the only way they would do it was if I purchased a box of ten, used my two and threw out the rest - not acceptable to me expecially when the AVA recommends the triennial... so I called Ranford and they said no problems they carry it all the time.

I have been there twice now in the last week and have seen two vets (brother and sister) and have to say I am so impressed with them, they are friendly and not too pushy and I really feel they care about the animals welfare - I was talking to the vet last night about the vaccination for Trixie and he said they have been doing the triennial for almost 6 years and recommend it to all their patients, but also suggest titre testing first  He suggested I titre Trixie rather than vaccinate but the dogs are going into kennels in less than 2 weeks so I was concerned about the titres coming back low and not having a chance to revaccinate in time (shouldn't have left it to the last minute).

Their leg wrapping skills are also brilliant and Trixie has had her work cut out trying to remove the bandage (on the third day when she realised it was on - must have been comfy).

She also told me she didn't feel comfortable vaccinating Trixie at the start of the week because of her slight infection and ABs - which got gold stars from me (don't really like it when vets vaccinate animals whose immune systems are already under stress) I will admit I had asked her about the vac to see what she would say - she passed my mystery shopper test

So yes very happy with the transition!

Will be taking Crazy-K in tomorrow for a check up and bloods and things, hopefully the good vibes will continue!

Yep - they sure do. For Trixie's anal gland abscess (which happened on a pulic holiday  ) I had to take her to Murdoch, then follow up at Vetwest, both places were helpful with the paperwork, and I only paid the $100 excess and got the other $450 odd dollars back.

Hey Emery - I think I am show weight at the moment and not anything like the lean agility condition I should be in rofl1.gif

Vet West was very good when I rang them tonight - but then all I needed to know was if they have ever seen the dog - so I was only on the phone a matter of 10 seconds.

Murdoch were terrific and what's more - they didn't charge to do it thumbsup1.gifrofl1.gif

I need a like button Amypie - that's the sort of dealing I have had with them regardless of when I have fronted up or what for.

Thank you all for the birthday wishes, Had a fairly normal but nice day.

It took until after lunch for the fam to remember it WAS my birthday, but I came home from town to a little choccy cake with blue icing. It took Master 4 to remember it was my birthday :) Gotta love husbands.

Hope all under the weather and injured dogs are going better and will be all back to well very soon.

My dogs and myself LOVE Bowen. My Bowen lady goes between the two as well.

LOVE your new girl Ptolomy, she is gorgeous.

I guess there are bonuses to only have one vet to visit :)

Hey good to see you last night Emery thumbsup1.gif. and good to catch up with all you agility crazy people again. This morning my body is tell me I am too old to be running around like a mad women late at night eek1.gif

Was lovely to see you too, the tollers did good and congrats on your qualify was it??

i saw amypie, ruby star and and and and and i know i saw someone else b ut i have had so little sleep got home at 1:15, had to pick up the baby who barely slept as he had needles yesterday i am craving a nap hoping he goes to sleep soon.

I quite enjoyed my night and my judge Vicki was so lovely and helpful to us complete noobs, I think we scribed everything correctly and had fun puttin together the courses.

I reckon after dealing with the snooker games i could quite easily scribe that again that was easy although the paperwork was daunting lol. All in all a good night.

Congrats to those that came first second or third, passed or qualified or just had lots of fun, a lot of the dogs seemed to be having a blast i did see a few people that obviosuly take it very seriously but i guess that is like any sport :)

Yeah i and a good friend scribed for the masters course :o though by the fifth dog i knew all the scores of each challenge and whether or not the dog had successfully completed the course.

Late night last night!

No quallies for me but I am very pleased with how Millie ran :) Second obstacle on the excellent agility course were the weaves where she got a refusal, as she caught a wiff of something and decided to sniff instead  But after I sent her back into the weaves she completed them and everything on the course beautifully thumbsup1.gif Much fun running her when she isn't being an absolute nutter making her own course up  She is so different to run than Ruby as Ruby is my slow and steady girl who I can usually get around a course. Millie is faster and more of a challenge to get around a course but when we work as a team it is great :D

I was so close to a Novice Snooker pass! Even the judge had to refer to her rule book to see if we passed or failed :olaugh.gif

Nice seeing you again emery, and glad you had fun stewarding!
