mirawee
I have had problems with one guy at Murdoch who does the Pennhip for them. But one of our last Lappies was xrayed there as they can now score them too. It was just done through the radiology department rather than through one of the orthopaedic vets and we didn't have a problem :)
Olivebaby
Thanks Mirawee, I just called them and they quoted me $500, does that seem normal? Were you able to claim through your pet insurance?

I highly doubt you will be able to claim it - unless you dog is limping and it's diagnostic. $500 sounds fair, especially if it includes scoring. fetchindawgs
Olivebaby, the last time I had a dog xrayed for hips & elbows was two years ago. I had it done at Applecross Vet & cost around $260.00 At that time Prof Wyburn was still doing assessments and it cost $100 for that. I don't know how much it is these days for the reading or who you would have to send it to, but the Vet Clinic usually does. It is not claimable on insurance. I could only tell 3/6 without their ribbons on (two because of white chest markings and 1 because it was a girl!)
Ptolomy
Wow Mirawee I think you should have one of both colours - bit like a hand bag where you can mix and match I had hips and elbows done at Applecross in 2011, and sat in the waiting room while they were done. From memory it was just over $500 for 2 dogs. I sent the x-rays to Rawlinson in South Australia as Wyburn was no longer reading x-rays.
