Lab_Rat
Sorry to hear about your Nonno RV, hope he is comfortable at least Hope poor Toby feels alot better tomorrow!! She is getting weekly cartrophen injections (but thats more to prevent further damage to her joints which is probably not causing the lameness at the moment). She had lots of trigger points (both shoulders and opposite rear leg and back) which the physio worked on today so hoping that should settle it all down again. Kenz had both xrays and ultrasound scans at the specialist. X-rays showed some slight degeneration in her elbow but nothing significant - might have been the result of the injury. Ultrasound scan showed some evidence of a chronic healing lesion in her right shoulder compared to the left but ruled out major biceps tendon damage. Crate rest is the treatment for biceps tendonitis. She is very tight on that side compared to the left side. Not really sure what else I should be doing - specialist said if she was still lame after 3 weeks of crate rest to take her back and we would talk about steroid injections or option b was going in and having a look and then doing surgery if necessary. Ness, would acupuncture be of any use for poor Kenz????? Poor bugger, so hard to keep them off their feet and sane Took Zola for a hour long walk today, and we saw lots of kangaroos!! Zola loved that, and she was so well behaved on her halti , poor kid! I felt sorry for Wandy having to stay home, but her bloody toe is a bit fat today - so I gave her a handful of treats sprinkled across the floor and disappeared with the BRD!! ness
Lat_Rat - Kenz has had 3 or 4 lots of acupuncture back when it first started over Dec/Jan/Feb. She got back to 90-95% good so we thought we would try the physio just to see if we could get any further progress. I am not really sure what I am doing at the moment. The chiro vet had a look at her the day after I took her to the specialist but wouldn't treat her because she was so over being poked and prodded he said rest her for a month or so and then bring her back but she ended up having physio today anyway. I just wish I had a crystal ball - 6-8 weeks crate rest seems to be the "norm" for treating biceps tendonitis (and thats what the physio and specialist to some extent advised) but the chiro vet didn't think it was the best course of action. I am struggling with what decision to go with because I am not sure if my reluctance to follow the specialist/physio is because I am really finding it hard to crate her and restrict her so much. Sorry having one of those nights and just want what is best and not really sure what is best .

ness
its not two that are conflicting its three - GAH - and I trust all of them which is the hard part. They all have a good case to put I just don't know where to turn and I want to do whatever is right without prolonging anything more then I have to . Yep have googled and read scientific papers to death . The real problem is the diagnosis is still a little hit and miss because Kenz's pain response was so mild and inconsistent. If somebody had said to me its definitely xyz and do this as a starting point I might have been ok but as it stands I just want to wake up tomorrow and for her to be better. We are now into 6 months of dealing with this and thats 6 months when I should have been out having fun with my little girl and that just sucks . And just when you think your two thirds done with resting her and you can start to get back on with your life only to have it suggested that your not even one third done I just feel rotten. Mason_Gibbs
Ness I can imagine how frustrated you are. If she was stiff etc IMO crating her is of no help but I am no expert and u have to do what u feel is right. It also all depends what the problem in the first place is tho lol. Ptolomy
Hey Rubystar thanks so much for bring the heat bags down to training last night. The large ones are a perfect size for heatbagging sore areas on the kids and they were so well made . Since my current ones are pretty grotty, and these are so much bigger and better than anything you can buy at any Pharmacy, can you please put me down for 2 and I will bring money to the trial on the weekend. If anybody is looking at a heat bag for their kids - these are perfect

If anybody is looking at a heat bag for their kids - these are perfect Not a problem :D Oh and you have colour choices, I forgot to mention that. At the moment, the 3 colours available in corduroy are burgundy, navy blue and light blue. I might even get some patterned corduroy I made a small size one, perfect to wrap around Ruby's elbow. It's 20x20cm with 2 channels. I've also made some 20x30cm, with 3 channels, and a 20x40cm with 4 channels. They also contain wheat pouches so if the outer casing somehow gets a hole in it, the wheat won't all fall out If anyone else is interested, I can make custom sizes. I sew them with channels so the wheat doesn't all fall to one side. Smalls are $6, medium are $8 and large are $10. Hit me up with a custom size and I'll give you a price I'm also making cool mats. So hit me up with a size! City Farmers sell their small for $45.95 and larges around the $100 mark I won't be charging anything like that!! Please help me kick start my little business, peoples! :D

These can be for people or doggies. I made mine originally for Ruby's sore leg but going to make one for me! I tried one out on my lower back where it sometimes is a killer and it was lovely. I think I need a long one to go round my neck, next!
