It's a split show, so some groups are on tonight and the rest at Kalamunda tomorrow. Am at work so dont have my Canine News here, only thing I can tell you is that Group 4 is at Kalamunda tomorrow :)

Thanks. My mum wants to go and check out some group 6 dogs... so if anyone knows if we might see some of them at the K9 tonight that would be great :)

Group 6 is on tonight ;) Split into 2 rings (I had my Canine News at work to do some entries and haven't gotten around to taking it home yet :mad )

ETA: Group 1 and 2 are the other groups on tonight :)

New rules for Agility and Games have been release :)

Although it probably would have helped to read the Games rules earlier... the judge at the Western Classic did an invalid Gamble for the Novice dogs - you aren't allowed to have and A-frame in the Gamble until Excellent under the current rules, and not until Masters under the new rules :mad So it wasn't just the angles which were bad for Novice dogs :) Oh well, it was fun anyway ;)

Topped the day off with a win in Novice Agility with Millie, 2nd place going to Ruby! Beaten by 2.5 secs

Ruby got 6th place in Novice Jumping for her JD title :) Millie knocked a bar on the spread in Novice Jumping, so close!!

Congratulations RS!!! wooohoooo!!! :-) I am hoping to get down tomorrow.

Poor horse.. it is similar to what happened to those race horses not that long ago isn't it?

The horse was electrocuted walking past a power pole ... well they think that was it.

Police horse killed while on duty

Energy safety staff examine a light pole thought to be linked to the death of a police horse.

Western Australian Police have confirmed that a police horse was electrocuted to death at a regional show in the Perth Hills this morning.

The horse was working at the Kalamunda Show when it threw the rider and fell to the ground while passing a metal light pole.

Police say Hercules appeared to recover, but collapsed and died after passing the light pole a second time.

Two police officers suffered electric shocks during the incident while trying to revive the horse. They were taken to hospital but have since been released.

Senior Constable Stuart Mosscrop says the horse collapsed from the shock.

"We've tried to remove him from the area and walk him out of the site, and as we've done so he's collapsed on the ground near a power pole," he said.

"As he's collapsed on the ground it appears that this was live and he's been electrocuted."

Senior Constable Mosscrop says it was a frightening experience.

"He started to get agitated and then the closer we got he suddenly started stamping again - the current must have been coming up through his hooves. We walked closer where the current must have been strongest and that's when he just collapsed on the ground," he said.

A witness says it was distressing to see the horse collapse and start convulsing.

Stall operator Daniel Williams says police officers tried hard to save the animal.

"They were pumping the horse's chest. There were two officers pumping the horse's chest obviously trying to get some air back into its lungs," he said.

The Kalamunda Show will be closed tonight so lights at the site do not need to be turned on.

Worksafe, Western Power and Energy Safety are investigating.

Thanks for putting that up Rosie ....Im not sure how to do all that

Apparently in England, a few racehorses were electrocuted in the display ring (or whatever its called!) before a race, and two had to be pts...saw footage of this - not nice!!! A couple collapsing on camera

Kalamunda show was very good today! The general public were really mingling and asking lots of questions there didn't seem to be a big entry though. I heard about the horse when I got home, how awful

Well done RS! Must have been an awesome feeling getting called up 1st and 2nd with your girls and your first agility title

There was an adorable Kelpie pup at the show today that was either black and tan or brown and tan
